I do think the Cubs are likely to win this series, but these posts illustrate what some people might call "a curse" or whatever. It's not some supernatural force. It's simple desperation among the fans. It manifests itself in different ways in different people. Some guys become exceedingly positive and others adopt a posture of being defeated from the start. And if you don't think the players feel that, you're crazy. You can find all kinds of quotes from players talking about how they don't know anything about the history or the goat, etc. But the mere fact that they're addressing it shows that that's a lie. They do know. And the pressure is more here than it would be anywhere else.

But after that game on Tuesday night, I wouldn't bet against them. It feels like they have the kind of "magic" that a team has to have beyond just being good in order to go through these series.

Its only natural to feel a little pressure in a big game, I don't believe in curses and I highly doubt any cubs player believes in that. This team believes they are the best team in baseball.. They are definitely the best NL team and can handle L.A. but I'm not so sure about Toronto or Cleveland.
