I'm just glad FS1 is done, what a dog shit presentation. ESPN is the best and TBS ain't bad.

According to my internet the Cubs will still be on FS1.

If the Cubs hit they'll win. Can't get shut down by scrubs like in 08.

Yup. We're fucked.

Take this negative shit to the Blackhawk threads were it belongs.

I do think the Cubs are likely to win this series, but these posts illustrate what some people might call "a curse" or whatever. It's not some supernatural force. It's simple desperation among the fans. It manifests itself in different ways in different people. Some guys become exceedingly positive and others adopt a posture of being defeated from the start. And if you don't think the players feel that, you're crazy. You can find all kinds of quotes from players talking about how they don't know anything about the history or the goat, etc. But the mere fact that they're addressing it shows that that's a lie. They do know. And the pressure is more here than it would be anywhere else.

But after that game on Tuesday night, I wouldn't bet against them. It feels like they have the kind of "magic" that a team has to have beyond just being good in order to go through these series.

 I admire your persistence with this narrative, but every team in every sport has fans who are overly positive and overly negative. In fact, the example used in this very thread is the Blackhawks. Extrapolating that Cub fans are somehow "different" than other fans because they have negative and positive fans is quite the stretch.

Every team has that magic feel, until they don't.

I personally think Toronto is the team to beat . They're mashing like the Red Sox were a couple weeks ago. Donaldson , Bats, EE is a tough middle to get through 4-5 times a game with no damage .

Agreed. I declared my horse to be whomever won the Baltimore/Toronto game. Though, those idiot fans don't deserve any more games.

Okay, that is enough. Stop with the negative waves. We need to think positive. Hopeful, joyous for a change. We need to give our boys some positive Karma for a change instead of the usual Chicago sports fan negative shit. This is why it is hard for our teams to win anything, all the crap energy we put out. Fuck man, you guys need to listen to yourselves, it is like the games are already over. Why even play? I will tell you because any team on any day can be beat. No team in the history of baseball has been perfect, never. Not even the Goddamned 1927 Yankees or the 1918 White Sox. Or pick a team. Football is a different animal in that it is a much shorter sample so you can theoretically get a perfect season. Fuck buck up and cheer and hope and pray . Man, what would Ditka think if he read this shit?

Bullshit, I am a firm believer in energy and Karma. If you put out positive thoughts and energy it will come back. Do the opposite and that is what you will get.

That's just a cover so they don't have to deal with me in the game threads.

All Cubs fans are idiots. Just look at Jim Belushi.

So are any of you actually going to the games, or are you just fans of a TV show?

He's just there to promote Newhart reruns to jimmypasta.

I'm thinking I may be priced out of that too. If terrible seats were going for thousands last series I imagine a standing room ticket will be $4k for a WS game.

What are you talking about? A guy in my office just bought two in the upper deck for Sunday's game for $550/pair. I just heard him on the phone.

I spent $400 for a bleacher ticket to Game 1 of the NLDS vs the Dodgers in 2008 and they got their shit kicked in.

Never again.

ours are priced in the $300 level for Saturday. Haven't sold yet. I picture WS going for $1500 for 500 level or SRO. I'll be going to game 5 if there is one, selling our other game.
