none of those quotes said the umpiring was why the cubs lost.

Like Rick pointed out, Hawk almost never says "the ump is why we lost". He just bitches about them a lot. Cub fans are bitching about the ump a lot in this thread. That's all Frank was pointing out, and it seems true.

Sorry for stating our opinion on the umpire who was, objectively, pretty poor.
Aren't most of the big Hawk ump blowouts against umps that notoriously suck?

I don't know... don't watch the Sox.

I would argue that there's a difference between fans complaining about an umpire one game and a TV analyst doing it during the game pretty much every game.
If you don't watch the Sox how do you know he does it every game?

When I was a Sox fan, Hawk did not do it every game. There were a few umps he did hate though and it made national news.

This differs from Cubs fans exactly how? Shit Cubs even have the misread lazy fly balls as moonshot home runs thing down pat.

This. How the difference between a PBP guy and fans is not obvious is head-scratching.

The ump was horrible.
The Cubs lost because they couldn't hit.
They looked at several strike 3 pitches right down main street.
They didn't lose because the ump was bad. They lost and the umps was bad.

Pat went out of his way to say Cooper did a fine job. Coomdaddy only got upset on the KB strike call.

Who cares? Every fan base on earth in every sport in the history of mankind complained about umpires and referees. Sox fans - if you're looking that hard for chinks in the Cubs armor, you should poke at the hitting of the middle of their lineup. It'd be a much more interesting conversation than complaining about fans complaining about the umpire.

When your 3 and 5 hitters have 2 hits combined in 6 games... you might have some lineup issues. Make fun of Rizzo and Russell Sox fans.

So it has gone from "Frank is wrong" to "Frank is right but his point is obvious and you could always say it".

Glad we could find common ground!

Well, Frank did infer that the Cubs lost because of the umping...

...And he's done nothing to stop it's spread....

Exactly. And talking about the middle of the lineup sucking wouldn't really be an interesting conversation. It would pretty much just be everyone saying "yup" or "agreed".

It doesn't matter because Sox fans will make the argument whatever they want it to be. This comes from an inferiority complex and a lack of activities to keep them busy in October.

Rather than fight you, we Cub fans would like to help. Here is an article to read. Once you're done, let us know and we can get you in contact with some professionals:

If we believe in Theo's theory of getting "more bites at the apple" then aren't the Dodgers due this year?

If not the Dodgers, then certainly the Blue Jays or Indians.

That's untrue. Getting more "bites at the apple" increases your chances in the aggregate. It does not make you more or less likely to win in any single given year.
