My absolute favorite show growing up.

They turned him into a cocky douchebag.

Re-makes suck.

Check back after next week. I predict a HUGE drop off.

I'm also a huge Macgyver fan. I still watch it all the time on netflix and cloo network. I was prepared for it to be completely awful. I actually dug it once I gave it a chance. I knew it wouldn't be the same and would have a different pace to it.

I like the new bad ass Jack Dalton. The original character was horrible. Mac also drinks beer now apparently. If I don't get multiple Zito and Murdoc episodes I will be pissed. There is also no way new Mac is going to go to the fucking challengers club.

Yeah I don't think the same numbers will be there.

But I think it'll be similar to what Hawaii 5-0 does.

I didn't know about this til today. I loved Macgyver. This dude is not nearly as hot as Richard Dean Anderson was. I think my dad thought I just thought it was a really cool show. It was but Anderson was so stinking hot. Too bad about 07 or a little after it was a steep decline. Good for him for not getting in on this.

Never really watched it the first time around...the previews for this new version look absolutely horrible.

Doubt I'll watch.

"Our" Macgyver had an everyman quality about him, like he was a regular guy. I liked the fact that he wasn't a highly trained fighter. He got into fights, but usually came up with a way to even the odds and prevail.

My criticism isn't so much that the new show isn't the same as the old one. I realize it could use some updating. But this "new" Macgyver isn't likable at all.

They made him a condescending douche who deserves to be punched in the face.

We've only seen 1 episode. He could become more likeable. I definitely hope he loses the douchey bond persona.

THey made Thornton a woman, we only seen Dalton on a couple episodes, now a regular.

Do hope they have a Murdoc, a man, not the lady, that looked like we will see again at some point.

Meh...it was ok. I didn't watch the original but because nothing else on a Friday,I'll check this one out.

It's a 1000 times better than the show after it,Hawaii 5-0. Friday's premiere featured a CGI Jack Lord and a psycho killer who pulled peoples eyes out. That show is messed up beyond belief.

I was a big fan of the original and watched the remake on Friday evening. I am usually kind of a TV snob and don't watch much on network TV
but I couldn't turn this show off, I wanted to get through the pilot. The premise is completely far fetched and acting is not that great but I might
give it another shot. The guy playing MacGyver is not likeable, I'll agree with that. Wishing he was more of an "everyman" than working for some
kind of special government unit but maybe that was what the original did too. I don't remember anymore.

I was not down with tonight's episode. Mac is a one man show. He is not part of a CSI NCIS team and he sure as shit isn't 2nd fiddle to the other members of the team. Its as if his role on this show is add a small amount of flash and swag to these government missions by using some macgyver ingenuity to solve a few meaningless problems.

It is seriously as if they dropped him into one of those damn military crime shows. Lets get the lone wolf back or give him 100 percent control over the mission and slow it the fuck down. You have an hour. Build your villians and build the situation. He doesn't need to fly all over the damn world in one episode and have his crew unload 2 million bullets into the faceless enemy.

Non-mullet one? It's the season finale where he meets his son and rides off on his motorcycle after quiting the phoenix foundation. Wait until 11 or 12 when the pilot episode is on. He has short brown hair in that one. I think Pete smokes and has a mustache or something in it too and isn't even named Pete.

They are or were pretty hot to me in 1992. I'm usually kind of a mullet girl but he looks better with short hair.

For the record, Forte announced he is currently writing the script for MacGruber 2.

This.

Tried to watch the second episode and gave up after 15 minutes. It's not even that I'm disappointed that they strayed so far from the original (I am though).

It's just a bad show.

Bad writing. Bad acting. Bad.

Funny, that same thought crossed my mind after 15 minutes. This show can't even kick off with the classic theme song. It's exactly like all the other CBS procedural shows ,nothing to see here. Just once I would like to see a portrayal of a hacker who couldn't hack into shit. Now that would be funny and original but Hollywood doesn't do original.

its BONES 2.0....

which is why it probably will be a wild success

but it sucks... i appreciate some of the details are realistic... but the producing is terrible. i guess its similar to the original in that regard.. whatever... this new version is so over dramatic... fuckin millenials.
