Fine. Then Im going to base "What Sox fans think" off of Richard Roeper and Bernstein's thoughts since they are both well known Sox fans.

I can't do anything about Roeper. He's one of ours. bernstein is with you.

Nope. Sorry. You can think all you want but until Bernstein says different, he's a Sox fan.

If I dont get to remove Steve, then you dont get to remove Bernstein

I think Elmhurst Steve has already stepped up the hyperbole re: the 2016 Cubs and, thus, is the answer to his own question.

Im telling you right now, he does not count. Dont be coming to me with Cub fans think.... with this stuff. I wont accept it.

He's right. My opinions are my own and should not be attributed to any group. Just as I was against signing Edwin Jackson and thought Theo overpaid for Lester and Heyward, other Cub fans may think those were all good moves. I love the Lackey signing, some Cub fans think he is too old and would rather they spent over 200 million on Greinke or Price. Every fan speaks only for himself.

Sure the Cubs are loaded. They have guys like Bryant, Rizzo and Schwarber who could have monster seasons with perhaps 40 HR's. But whom amongst the team will have the biggest improvement? Who will perhaps surprisingly, take the biggest step up in 2016. Kyle Hendricks is my pick. I think he will win 15 games and have an ERA under 3.50

Well, he got the wins and his ERA was well below 3.50

Everything I posted concerning the Cubs, from not wanting Heyward, preferring not to sign Zobrist, because it blocked Baez from playing 2B, to Hendricks stepping up the most, to the Cubs winning the division and topping 100 victories was correct. I was also correct about the Sox being pretenders and finishing around .500 (though I thought they would be a couple games over, not under .500) and not contenders. Also right about NOT signing Arrieta yet. Need to see how he does next year and if he stays healthy, before even considering investing well over 100 million on en extension. Had they signed him a year ago to one, the price would have been higher than it would be now. I'm actually thinking that getting all they can from him next year and thanking him for his service might be the way to go. Let another team overpay for a guy who had an unbelievable year in 2015, but is a bit older than ideal for a long extension and is not performing close to the 2015 level anymore. he's still very good and capable of great games, but not the guy you pencil in for a win each time he pitches anymore. Had he remained near that level, an extension this winter would have made more sense. Still, he had the 18 wins I predicted, though I predicted an ERA around 2.50 and he was just over 3 in the end.

Perhaps. But I said A YEAR AGO that offering him an extension would be a mistake. That waiting to see how 2016 goes was prudent. To make sure that he says healthy and see where his level of performance is through this year is, before even thinking of an extension. Now, I wouldn't think of it until after 2017 and if the terms are along the 30 million a year talked about a year ago, with 6-7 years involved as mentioned.....no way. 3-4 years at no more than 25 a year. Otherwise, thanks for the good work you did here and best of luck to you.

Dude, do you take a ton of pride in "predictions"? If so, do you realize how dumb that is? There is no skill in these "predictions" and yet every post of yours constantly cites them.

He predicted the Cubs to win the division though.

You know, the prohibitive favorites to win the World Series in Vegas, and he predicted that they would win the division!

I predicted the Bears to not make the playoffs this year. Bask in my glory!

Okay, well the thread is about who will step up the most in 2016 and predicting Hendricks would win 15 games ......a 5th starter, not even assured to be in the rotation when spring training ended, is a bit bolder than predicting the Bears not to make the playoffs.
