Rozner's funny. Before the series all he kept saying was that Kershaw and Jansen were overworked from last series and the rest of the LA staff was garbage and the Cubs should easily beat them. Now today he just keeps saying how it's hard to hit 1 and 2 pitchers and a good bullpen. I love how these Score hosts just change their opinions daily on these games and then act like they never held a completely contradictory opinion just days earlier.

It was great to hear Plesac try to explain competition to a guy who has never competed in anything beyond JV soccer in his life. Of course, dan still thinks he knows more about baseball and how it really works than an 18 year veteran with 1100 big league innings pitched.

It's funny to me that guys like Plesac and Hollandworth spent like a year here and end up as analysts in Chicago.

Well, Plesac is from Crown Point. Isn't one of Mac FM's claims to fame that he singled off him in high school? Also, Plesac is a big harness racing guy. I don't know if he has any stock what with the state of racing in Illinois, maybe he races at Hoosier Park. He and his dad operated Three Up Three Down farm.

This attorney I know, Richard Balog always wears cowboy boots. I asked another lawyer about him and the guy immediately said, "Cowboy Boots?" Then he called him F. Lee Balog. Anyway, Balog owned a great trotter that he named after Plesac. Here he is racing his fucking guts out against the greatest horse that ever lived:

Yeah, that's him. Good racing guy. I think he used to be on the Illinois Racing Board.

Funny you mention cowboy boots. Does he also carry all his stuff to court in a saddle bag? If so I see him nearly every day.

Pleasac was schooling them. Also he is MLB network not a Cubs analyst. Anyway, Dan was trying to get him to say if saber is dumb how is Theo so smart. Without missing a beat plesacwsaid he works both new and old school.

You work out in the Kane or McHenry a lot, I take it.

I guess Balog is friends with Plesac. Here's a video of Plesac on his farm:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5wlww5F-Tg

His best horse by far was a pacer named Ball and Chain. The horse made about a million and a half but Plesac sold him before he made most of it. I'm not sure how much he got for him.

Plesac sounded a lot like Pat Murphy. It's funny how those who have actually been with a big league team all have similar viewpoints that aren't exactly in line with the blabbing of guys like Joe Sheehan.

You need both, always both. Even the 2004 Red Sox, who were supposed to represent the triumph of the sabermetric revolution, still had Theo and his boys answering to Larry Lucchino and his crusty baseball lifers. (Also, Boston's success with sabermetrics has always been about synthesizing those principles with having the money to make expensive mistakes indefinitely. Monopoly is probably even less fun to play if someone can tear up little scraps of loose-leaf paper, write dollar amounts on them, and say they count.)

You're thinking of Mike Edgerton.
