I agree his stuff is great. I just think he would benefit from a full year of being the set up guy

Resign Chapman or get the Dodgers closer signed.

Gotta have a lock down closer. Ask the Giants.

Rizzo has more hits from the 5th inning to the 8th inning of this game than the entire postseason prior.

as Beane used to say, relievers are like volatile stocks. Today's Andrew Miller could be tomorrow's Brad Lidge.

This game is so over that Ron is waxing nostalgic about the retired Dodgers numbers.

When did Pete Rose turn into Cotton Hill? Did he lose his shins in the war too?

Had to do a tour and missed the game. Frankly I purposely didn't want to know what was going on. Turned it on after the game ended and saw they won and won big. I should miss the next games so they continue to win.

He is a bit streaky. This could be the start of a hot streak now, that lasts a week or more.

He does a good job on that show. A-Rod has a definite future in broadcasting. Very impressive. Well prepared, very articulate and of course very knowledgeable about baseball in general and baseball history as well.

So now you guys calm and ready for the Indians?

Maddon should be setting his rotation now.

I found it funny this morning looking at this thread. During and after a win there are considerably less posts. Glad all is back to normal for the Cub fans. A three game series now with home field advantage. Best of luck or variance or whatever.

I'll paraphrase Rounders. Poker players rarely remember the big pots they've won but can recall with astonishing clarity the bad beats they've had. Or more succinctly, misery loves company

Listen, here's the thing. If you can't spot the sucker in your first half hour at the table, then you are the sucker.

last night was the game i could have only dreamed about. it had better be the start of the newfashioned cubs, and i can only hope the dodgers just woke a sleeping giant.

still have to wait and see on that, though. but it was damn satisfying, that's for sure.

They did a nice job of showing how off Heyward's swing is. He consistently makes contact as the ball is crossing the plate, in the center of his body. He should be connecting with the ball about a foot forward, closer to his front knee, just in front of the plate.

His hands are doing a thing that is delaying the path of his bat barrel.

The problems with his swing are not going to be resolved in a quick session in the cage. He will need to work on it over the winter and restructure the swing. For now, he should be benched in favor of someone capable of contributing with the bat much more regularly. His "great defense" was missing last night as well, when he took too long getting rid of the ball and then threw poorly to home on the controversial play at the plate that fortunately the umpire called wrong and replay upheld, despite the replay appearing to show Gonzalez was safe. He's contributing nothing.

I'm happy that we got to see a no doubter win. It was nice to be able to relax and not sweat out the final innings.

Take Maeda to the woodshed tonight and I will be a happy camper.

Toles' throw was the worst easy throw I've ever seen.

Anyone know what Lackey said in his postgame presser? They were ripping him this morning, but I didn't hear what he said.
