I'm stumped why you would say that.

Olken still hosts The Scorecard during golf season on Saturday mornings and he works for the Illinois Golf Association, I think.

edit: He works for a golf cart company.

That's actually a pretty good show. Always liked Olken.

Yes it is. Good listen on the way to work. Him and Ed are good together.

I used to listen to Thom Greene & Steve Olken's Sports Huddle from 9-Midnight on 670 in the late 90's when I worked nights.

Matt Rodewald going to Phoenix for a television gig.

From Larz site...

Chicago Radio/TV Veteran Matt Rodewald Named Phoenix TV Anchor/Reporter

Details
Published on Wednesday, 19 October 2016 14:40
Matt Rodewald, who has worked in Chicago media (radio, television, and print) since 1998, will soon be moving southwest with his family. Today Rodewald was named as the new weekend news anchor and weekday reporter for KSAZ-TV/FOX 10, one of the two FOX-owned and operated stations in Phoenix, AZ. He will begin at his new job next week.

KSAZ-TV Vice President and News Director, Doug Bannard says that Rodewald will co-anchor the Saturday and Sunday editions of the station's 5:00pm, 9:00pm, and 10:00pm newscasts, as well as serving as a reporter on various other station newscasts during the week.

In making the announcement, Bannard stated: "Matt is a strong reporter and anchor, whose enthusiasm and personality are a perfect fit for our newsroom. His broad experience over nearly 20 years will be a valuable asset to FOX 10 News."

Rodewald added today: "I'm thrilled to get a chance to join the valley's best news team. This is a tremendous professional opportunity to tell powerful stories and to learn from fantastic veteran reporters. FOX 10 is heading in a clear direction forward and I can't wait to get started in Phoenix."

In order to accept the new Phoenix position, Rodewald has had to say goodbye to various other jobs he has been doing in and around Chicagoland. He exited his job as morning show anchor/producer for WTVO-TV/WQRF-TV in Rockford, with his final newscast taking place this morning. Rodewald had been working in Rockford television since February 2013. This week, Rodewald also said goodbye to WSCR-AM/670 The Score, where he has been a sports update anchor and weekend/fill-in host since January 2008.

Since October 2010, Rodewald has been working with the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) and Comcast SportsNet Chicago as a high school sports announcer/reporter and studio host. His final day working with the IHSA and CSN Chicago will be this Saturday. Rodewald will once again be a key contributor for CSN Chicago's sixth annual broadcast of the IHSA Football Playoff Pairing Show, which will air live on October 22nd from 8:00pm-10:00pm.

Other freelance jobs that Rodewald is now walking away from include his play-by-play sports announcing for CSN Chicago, Comcast's CN100 preps coverage, ESPN3, Big East Digital Network, and The Cube.

Many will remember Rodewald for his nearly five years seen on WMAQ-TV/NBC 5, where he served as the weekday morning traffic and transportation reporter. He won four Emmy Awards for his work with WMAQ-TV.

Other past stops for Rodewald include WMVP-AM/ESPN 1000 as an anchor/reporter from 2004-2008, Chicago Tribune as a sports section contributor from 2003-2008, and the Kane County Chronicle as a sports correspondent from 1998-2002. He also worked for nearly a year on radio and television in Indianapolis in 2002-2003.

A native of Geneva, IL, Rodewald holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Indiana University.

Chicago media's loss now becomes Phoenix media's gain.

Fun fact: Rodewald includes on his resume that he was Student Council President in high school.

man that reminds me of a senior year of HS kegger/party back in unincorporated elk grove. hanging around the keg talking to one of my old weed dealers, a visibly shitfaced class president comes into the room and starts shaking everyone's hand, even referring to the dude i was talking to by name, and introduces himself as FIRSTNAME LASTNAME, CLASS PRESIDENT. after refilling his beer over ~10 seconds of banal platitude-laden conversation, he promptly left the room.

dude turns to me like "who the fuck was that?" and i was like "you didn't catch his name and title he told everyone.... don't worry, he' harmless"

i think the class prez ended up going out to NYC and working in/around wall street, so i reckon he was already on the path back at that kegger.

She was fairly hot.
