one of my (sports-dumbass) friends decided to get in a little argument with me about how you gotta put hendricks out there for WS Game 2 because "he's been your 2nd pitcher all season, and how is saturday to wednesday short rest?"

for the first time in my life i literally had to bust out "dude, no offense but you're talking to a fantasy baseball champion here. i watch a lot more baseball way more closely than you do, so TRUST ME when i say that you don't wanna fuck with young pitchers' grooves by having them come back on short rest just to start game 2 of the WS because "that's your rottion" --- as it is with lester/arrieta/hendricks/lackey(??) you will have lester on normal rest, arrieta on extra rest, hendricks on normal rest, and lackey on extra rest (if needed)--- and seriously look at how dominant hendricks has been at home.... worst case scenario = you come home for 3 games down 0-2 and you got kyle hendricks locked and loaded on normal rest for that game 3.... i think you're in a pretty good position and i definitely woudn't fuck with that just because "HENDRICKS IS MY #2 PITCHER AND DAMMIT NOBODY COMES BEFORE THE ROTATION (LONG LIVE THE HUD!!! [in unison =])

TLDR = yeah for the first time in my life i had to whip out the "uh, you're talking to a fantasy baseball champion here" card to fortify my point that MADDON WOULD BE FUCKING [R-WORD]ED TO PUT HENDRICKS OUT THERE ON SHORT REST FOR GAME 2.... IN CLEVELAND! i might possibly be a prophet or simply from the future (at some point anyways) so trust me when i say that your playoff rotation = lester, arrieta, hendricks, lackey(??) and then repeat until parade.

btw guys, two things: 1) baseball uncle INSISTS that back in 2011 i specifically said that the cubs would win the world series in 2016.... in person / to his face (read: "you're welcome, cubs fans!") definitely not related to any starlin castro HOF plaque *twilight zone theme*

and 2) my dad is starting to get e-mails from ticketmaster/stubhub/etc.... evidently right now it's $2400 to get standing room only for the world series @ wrigley. you figure that's only gonna go up if/when the cubs win 1/2 in cleveland and there's a chance they COULD win the world series in chicago. if that's the case and they can win the WS in game 4 or 5.... man, you figure maybe 7500-10k+ just to get in the ballpark? is that a low estimate?
