I was drafting a Senor Columnist post in my head this morning. It was to go something along the lines of

"Look, this is great, and I know people are talking about their regrets, that Ron Santo wasn't here to see it, or Ernie Banks wasn't here to see it. NONE. OF THAT. MATTERS. You know what my regret is? That even after partnering with CBS, the Cubs still feel -- and I know they don't want to, they really do feel it's an obligation on their part -- to play 'Go Cubs Go' after wins, a...song that mentions another station the Cubs don't play on anymore. And to me, that's so disrespectful to Mitch Rosen, and to a lesser extent, Matt Spiegel, but I get it. I get it. I wish the dead-enders who care about Ernie Banks got it."

but he dug deep on this Ivy League tweet and got me. Dan Bernstein did a better Dan Bernstein than my Dan Bernstein. You win this round, Senor. This round.

Finally.

A victory for rich, smart, white guys!!

This victory belongs to the Ivy League, pal! It had nothing to do with the black shortstop with three illegitimate kids or the heavily tattooed semi-literate Puerto Rican second baseman.

The other 24 guys on the playoff roster have 21 "years" in college classrooms, combined. Hendricks makes 24.

What school did Jim Hendry go to?

He was 5 outs from a WS and gave this team Baez & Contreras.

Can guys be Caller Bobs? Because I don't think "dick", "douchebag", "asshole", or "jagoff" really suit him but "Caller Bob" or "fucking Caller Bob" suit him quite nicely.

Damnit, I can't find a youtube for it.....as soon as I read these messages and saw a Doc attached, I thought of this line in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest! McMurphy says it to the inmates about Nurse Ratched.

EDIT: Sorry, I was just watching that film, so it is in the front of me bleedin' mind.

Most of the truly "smart" (Dan's new favorite word) people I've met in my life who were amazingly gifted at analyzing certain topics did not go to Harvard or Yale, and none of their intelligence was derived from their educational background. It's amazing to me how obsessed he is with people's educations and professions. Theo Epstein is clearly a very good baseball executive, as are many of those who he surrounds himself with. That has zero to do with the fact that he went to an Ivy League School. And Kyle Hendricks ability to manipulate hitters has zero to do with going to Dartmouth. The fact that he throws a nasty changeup certainly has nothing to do with going to Dartmouth.

I'm just rambling. What I'm trying to say is I wish Dan Bernstein would be thrown into a pit of hungry lions.

honestly, if he's truly out to eradicate "Go Cubs Go" from existence (or even just 100% mandatory plays over the wrigley PA system after the final out in a cubs victory) then i am 100% #TeamSenor here and i'm going to be willing to look past a lot of "faux-intellectual hooey" (aka REALLY. SMART. BULLSHIT.) to solidify my 100.0% support of Dan legit doing the lord's work here.

seriously, in lieu of the laughably pointless "thoughts/prayers/support" does this man have a patreon, gofundme, or even just some kind of ~10-25% shady charity that i can give some $$$ to fully knowing that a "decent %" of it will go to cover some "administrative costs" that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that "i support this man's quest, no, vision of a much better future??!

To his credit, Lil Danny does it the right way with Twitter trolls. He ignores them and doesn't engage. Therefore has zero problems on Twitter. Fat, red, and stupid has yet to learn that.

When Ryan Fitzpatrick wins the Super Bowl and erases decades of football stupid from the Jets, you'll see how wrong you are.

Did you see them trying to replace him with some HillJack from West Virginia? #ivyleagueschooled

I have always liked him on the Score even back to his reporter days and hosting odd shows on the weekends. He has always had a good mix of stupid funny crap and smart deeper conversations.

I think he really hit his stride in the early days of B&B with Terry. I think he does a good job of conducting interviews and dealing with subjects that other hosts and shows don't look at.

Now I will say that I don't like him as much now as I used to like him. And I do not universally agree with him. There are a lot of things he does that I think are stupid and do not like. He has an annoying tendency to go overboard with stuff like smart baseball crap and the whole Penn St fiasco.

But on the days when he is just being his funny stupid self and not taking himself too serious he is still a good listen. You still get glimpses of the B&B show that was so good for so long. I am hopeful that the return of Terry will bring about some good ole B&B for awhile.

MANY here want that. But even with Terry these past few years he's gone "Full Senor". I don't think that show is ever returning.

Theo already won World Series a new ron darling was a pitcher from Yale decades ago on the mets series winner

Stupid seemed to survive those assaults

Theo seems like good guy who doesn't reference his education. That is probably a good idea for a legacy entry who followed up in San Diego for law school

Didn't everyone in his family go to Harvard or Cornell for law?
