I been reading a lot on the Indians and looking over their roster and stats.

It seems to be the only area that they are clearly better than the Cubs is the bullpen.

The Cubs appear to have the better lineup and starting pitching.

The thing about the playoffs that no one but the most astute fans talk about is the importance of getting ahead in the series, and then closing out it before your opponent does. I would love to see the Cubs in 5, so they can have yet another amazing party in Wrigleyville, but to do that it's going to be really crucial for them to hold Cleveland to no more than one win. That being said, even if we don't win in five we should be in good shape if at the end of every game we score more than they do. With so many variations on how the Cubs could win, this is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing matchups in history.

I really hope Fox shows the opening ceremony of the WS. I don't think they do anymore. I want to see that especially at Wrigley. For those of you who don't know what i'm talking about, the first game at each park, they introduce each leauge champion. All players on the first base and third base sides. It's what makes the WS so special. I don't know why they don't show it anymore. I haven't seen in in years. I just hope they show it this year.

It is bullshit that the Cubs with 103 regular season victories (the best record in the major leagues) have to relinquish home field advantage because of the results of the All-Star game. But it does make it possible for them to clinch at home if they can take 1 or both of the fist pair in Cleveland. Still, the home field should revert back to going to the team with the superior regular season record.

Its a dumb ass rule, like almost any rule initiated by that boob. If the WS is going to be home field winner than the fans can't vote anymore, not every team can be represented and the manager with the best record gets to pick his team.

If you hate Laurence, then don't listen - don't comment. When he co-hosts the B&B show, take that day off ... listen to an old podcast of a Bernstein solo show and jerk off all day.

Someone already broke this down quite well. Home field in the WS was never determined by best record. It was alternating years. I never realized that...makes the rule much less idiotic.
