Isn't the AFL the basic equivalent to low A ball that nobody except Keyser gives a shit about?

I'm not an expert but I don't think so. I always thought it was a handful of each team's best prospects for High A, maybe AA, for the next season.

The Cubs have Happ and Jimenez there. I think, actually, there is a limit to how many players can be there that don't have AA experience.

 No. You actually have to make a call on what your pitcher has left rather than just letting the circumstances dictate pinch-hitting.

So you're saying there are less things to take into consideration and yet you consider that more complicated?

I don't think it's complicated when a decision is made for you. In the NL, if you get to a certain point in the game and you're behind or only ahead by a minimal amount of runs, you're gonna pinch hit. If the pitcher is a lefty, you bring in your righty. If the pitcher is a righty, you bring in your lefty. It's not rocket science.

In the AL, you have to make a real decision on whether you can squeeze another out or two out of the starter.

You don't watch a lot of NL ball if you think pinch hitting is automatic. Secondly, you'd think AL pitchers would be more successful if they were taken out when they lost their stuff, considering that would be the manager's only worry. Lastly, you are ignoring the entire concept of double switches, which I'd be happy to explain to you should there be a need.

How hard can it be? Don't you believe you know more than a lot of managers?

AL baseball is so simple that Joe Maddon was unable to win a World Series in Tampa.

I 'know more' than a lot of people employed in major league baseball. I guarantee you I could squeeze into the front office of MANY baseball teams and out perform some of their personnel.

Archaic points of view such as JORR's no longer work in 2016. Find those traditionalists and give them the boot.

I forgot...you think giving up more runs can be better than giving up less runs.

If there are as many pinch hitters as you say, then doesn't that reduce the impact NL pitchers would have on an opposing pitcher's ERA?

The game can't be that complex if a young guy like you who spends most of his week working a job in a completely different field could waltz in and be better than many who are at the highest level.

I think you just disqualified yourself from that front office job.

Schwarber takes the roster spot of lefty reliever Rob Zastryzny who was needed in the NLCS due to a heavy left-handed hitting Los Angeles Dodgers lineup. The Cubs will employ 11 pitchers and 14 position players for the World Series, the same amount they used in the NLDS. There were no other changes to their roster from the previous round.

Schwarber is the franchise's postseason home run leader after hitting five in 2015. He made his first career start against the Indians last June, going 4 for 5 at Progressive Field. He's also an Ohio native.

With IMU in the front office, I expect no more cheap adjustable hats on hat day. I want fitted hats just like the players wear.

Fine, but they're all size 5-1/2.

Maddon told Spiegs and Goff that Kyle would be in the lineup tonight as DH. So trust in Joe.

Hey there Twinkles. Joe gave me the heads up last night, so I had Producer Jared get Kyle the best set of down pillows we could get in Cleveland so he was well rested and ready to go. We had a whole care package ready for him when he got to the hotel...nice pillows, soft pajamas from Pajamagram, good bottle of White Zin from my guys at Binny's, some Shari's Berries for desert. Told Ed Vedder all about the care package, and he told me that a nice Pinot or Merlot would have been a better wine option, and I was like, "I don't know, Ed...maybe we should defer to Billy on this one."

Take some calls.

William Faulkner wrote As I Lay Dying in his spare time over the course of six weeks while working full-time at a power plant.

Apparently its status as one of the most complex and masterful modernist novels of the 20th century needs to be reconsidered in light of your wisdom above.

He was an author for years prior to that. If anything, it is impressive that he could be as good as he was at working at a power plant.
