In press conference, Maddon says he isn't sure that Schwarber won't play defense this series.

Oh... Dr. Zaius
Ape: Dr. Zaius, Dr. Zaius.

Troy: Can I play the piano anymore?
Zaius: Of course you can.
Troy: Well I couldn't before!

Come on. ME!

I'm telling you. Sports radio will be abuzz about playing Schwarber's hot bat in LF by Friday.

6 AZL AB's and he's ready for the World Series? I get the "you're playing with house money" thing but this might be going a little too far.

It's just a baseball game. The pressure doesn't exceed the pleasure. Just go out there and try not to suck. Embrace the target.

See the part about it being a hobby. If imu actually was a baseball executive before he then went to whatever mind numbing corporate hell he is in now then I would have a different opinion.

Between IMU's knowledge of baseball and Spanish, I cant believe the Sox opted for Ricky Renteria over him.

I wouldn't take a job where I'm positioned to fail. A company is required to provide the resources I use to succeed.

If you are that much better than MANY people currently working in MLB front offices, what the team provides you with should not matter.

Why don't you quit your #fasttrack job, and start sending in your resume to MLB clubs? Seems a man of your ilk would be in high demand. Put your money where your dumbass mouth is.

You've never heard MLB referred to as an old boys' club, I guess.

I'm extremely happy with my current job. Maybe you've missed that over the last six years of me mentioning it.

If I'm ever out of work for an extended period of time like some here, I can explore that option. But again...that seems an unlikely scenario.

And would have been doubled off second had the center fielder been awake (though that's on Maddon for not pinch running).

Is Frank calling out IMU for not quitting his job and trying to break into a front office in MLB? That seems like an odd jump...

I don't think it's that he's not self aware enough to know, but it's obvious he doesn't care.

Hankus, I am merely stating that IMU should put his money where his mouth is. Since he likes to talk such a big game, I think perhaps he should do something to back up his rhetoric.

IMU wrote:
I 'know more' than a lot of people employed in major league baseball. I guarantee you I could squeeze into the front office of MANY baseball teams and out perform some of their personnel.
If he can guarantee front office success, then I must ask why in the hell is he working in marketing? Love of the job or happiness cannot be a factor, since its very clear that IMU enjoys baseball as much as anybody on this board.

With his baseball and marketing expertise he can take both Crane Kenny and Theo's jobs.

Don't we all feel like that? We just don't say it as blatantly/ridiculously as IMU did. If I didn't think I knew something about sports, I wouldn't talk about it as much as I do.

You think you could walk into a MLB team and run it better than many of the people who are there now?
