Beardown thinks Goff crys like a bitch. (No offense to women. It's just a figure of speech. I'm not a sexist. But Doc is a sexist for his use of the word "bitch".)

Cubs fans have spent so much time freaking out over very minor bumps in the road against the Giants and Dodgers and then realizing there wasn't much to worry about that they've been lulled into a false sense of security with the tribe. Cleveland shut down Toronto's lineup without much effort in the ALCS, Cleveland can also score runs like any good AL team should, Cleveland has many bullpen pitchers that completely outclass what the Dodgers and Giants call out of their bullpens... this is a real ass team the Cubs are playing.

And now they're down 0-1 with their postseason ace not pitching again until game 4 or 5, and the Indians will trot out that firebreathing monster that humiliated the Cubs lineup tonight again by that time. Even if the Cubs win the next two the Indians will have a great shot at equalizing with Kluber on the bump in game 4.

By the way, step outside. This 7 month summer we've had is drawing to a close and with the falling temps come memories of arctic explorer Javy Baez and ostfront panzerkommander Joe Maddon dressed in 20 layers wishing they were inside. Cleveland has the same climate we do also, so no respite on the road.

Why the hell is Skip Carey on the post game show with Lou on FOX? That's weird. Bob Deneir is with Lou as well.

Really?

Couldn't find local ass holes to do this?

I'm enjoying the series without being tense. Cuz I don't care who wins. I think it's a good story either way. I'm interested in this WS more than others cuz I know the Cubs well. Cuz I watch them during the season. It's unique for me.

So the game tomorrow is moved an hour up? Just great, won't be able to see most of it.

Been reading the net after the game and seems like there is an extra punch to the cubs from many national writers. Sort of like they got tired of the Cubs WS 108 year talk and now they're giving it back to them. Well they're the ones pushing the 108 year story the last 2 days.

Yeah, I think "I don't like the Cubs" saves a lot of time and conveys the same message there.

Saw Joe Maddon post game. He says he feels good about how they played tonight. I don't think I've ever seen the guy in panic mode.

They had Miller on the ropes. So Maddon should feel good about that.

What's the Cubs record when Heyward sits? For some reason, it seems like they struggle to win when he's out of the lineup...as weird as that may sound.

I feel for you but I am pretty sure whatever team that is not going well is probably not going to like all that in the broadcast. They have done that stuff for Cubs and will again.

disappointing but not discouraging. if they do the same tonight, my knuckles will turn white.

last night's shut out was different than the Dodgers Donuts. they weren't even coming close to hitting or looking like there were any signs of life.

here, they had a few chances to break things wide open. they just didn't get it done.

They'll kill Bauer and his drone tonight.

No troll here.... Last night went as I expected except that the Cubs got shut out. I was very surprised by many people showing the Indians no respect whatsoever before the middle of the game. I am not referring to most of the posters here but radio (especially Score hosts) and facebook mostly. Probably woke the Cubs up some you would think but this will be a series not a cake walk. It is not like they were gifted the results to get past Boston and Toronto.

I knew Kluber would be be tough. What got me was the amount of strikes with the Cubs just looking. I get it, Kluber was throwing some sick pitches. However, they should have figured out quickly that if it was close, take a whack at the pitch.

There were many times I actually yelled at the television, "Swing the bat for Pete's sake!!!".

Last night is over. Let's go forward and beat the daylights out of Cleveland tonight. Go Cubs Go!

Yeah, those are stupid statistics. Like Fowler being the first black Cub to play in the World Series. They're true, but not really significant given each team's lack of postseason play. Any guy on either team who has a big postseason is likely to be the first or best at something.

I feel like I should be panicking but I'm not.

I think we lose tonight if we can't outslug them because I think Jake is a lost cause at this point but I like our chances at taking all 3 at Wrigley.

Kluber was amazing but I have faith that the Cubs will have better at bats vs him later on in the series. I can see pitching Kluber twice on short rest ultimately being the Indians' downfall.

Put Heyward back in. Their rotation relies on breaking stuff and Heyward can hit the slow stuff. I don't need to see Coghlan again in this series.

The Indians have gotten an early lead in pretty much every game this postseason. I want to see them play from behind. How about some in game adversity? It's been too easy for them.

I think Francona may have made a mistake pulling Kluber from that game so early. He was thinking about Game 4 before he had won Game 1. Sure, they ended up getting the win, but I can't see how Miller could be available tonight for more than a batter or two. They've been riding him hard throughout the entire playoffs and you could see even in the last game he pitched against Toronto that he wasn't quite as sharp as he had been.

Had him in the ropes is something to feel good about? Uh, they didn't do shit. A couple of K's and whatnot. Zero runs.

Why should Maddon feel good about that?

Serious question. Lot's of "well they didn't lose by 10 so it's going like I expected..." stuff going about here.

Not saying you should be running around screaming at invisible people and stabbing your wife but geeeeze.
