Bauer is a total fucking bum. If the Cubs can't hit this meathead then I don't know what to say.

Nope. But if it helps you avoid a mental collapse and a trip to the methadone clinic, well, so be it.

Two pivotal games with 2 and 6.

I think you are right.

I agree. And I feel good about that.

People are forgetting how good he is. Even when he struggles with command, he's pretty good.

I think he gets it together and dominates this evening.

There are certainly no guarantees, but the Cubs have every single starting pitching matchup advantage except Lester v Kluber, and that is even. If Kluber goes on short rest, then he may have an advantage over Lackey but his reduced effectiveness may minimize it.

I like Arrieta and Hendricks over the next two games. Cubs will go up 2-1 with the next two in Wrigley. Cubs only needed to win 2 of the 4 in Cleveland to almost guarantee the WS victory.

Bernsie and more so Rozner said this last week against Dodgers. In the playoffs sometimes the difference is simply a mistake, error or just dumb luck.

Good point. It's an easy get out of jail free card for when you've committed so hard to one side of things....and it doesn't work out.

Oh I see it. Dan raced to the front of the line though to say in the playoffs throw out the saber. Variance. Small samples.

Exactly. Cover all your bases. And don't forget.....don't worry. The Cubs WILL be back in the World Series. Cub/Sox fan Bernstein said so.

Much like Rich Hill last series in game 2 some might want to slow their roll on the starting pitcher for Cleveland tonight being a bum and pinkie talk until tonight.

To me, the luck thing is way overrated. If I'm the Giants and can arrange things to have Cueto pitching Game 5, I'm happy. Likewise, the Dodgers had to feel pretty good with Kershaw , Hill, and Jansen ready for Games 6 and 7 (didn't work out, but give credit to the Cubs, not to luck). And if this series goes to Game 7 and Kluber is dominant in a win, you can't say there was luck involved. The bottom line is they had Kluber pitching and the Cubs didn't. Get better players.

There are always outliers...when they occur in the post season, they can affect the outcome of series.

Fact

Exactly. It wasn't luck that allowed their light hitting catcher to launch two bombs. He crushed two mistake pitches.

For some reason, Arrieta doesn't concern me as much as Hendricks. I fear this could be the team that figures him out.

Rich Hill was one of the best pitchers in baseball this season. Trevor Bauer is a bum.

Bauer isn't exactly a bum. He isn't 2016 Rich Hill though. And he isn't a lefty.

I've been saying that for a long time this year, and I've been wrong all season, including game 5. I give up predicting his failure, but I can't understand it.

It's kinda how I couldn't figure out why Joe Borowski was so good. Then I saw him pitch a bullpen session straight on, and it was impossible to see the ball out of his hand properly because of the way he threw. Very difficult to pick up the spin. And that was in a bullpen session, in which he wasn't really torquing it up. Made more sense.

Probably would have put Contreras in the OF with Montero at C. Soler hits like .000 in cold weather. Might as well let Montero hit at that point.

Contreras will help negate the running game is my guess.
