Well we can officially say this was the right decision.

If nothing else, his trade value has never been higher.

I predict by Friday the debate will be that he's hitting so well whether they should try him out in LF to keep him in the lineup. I love this move.

Tip of the cap to Dr. Ken.

He has nailed it.

The guy was a real butcher before his knee surgery, I gotta think he's in left field tomorrow.. He should drive in more runs than he costs us, especially if the wind is going to be blowing out pretty hard.

Schwarber looks teriffic - obviously. However, his post season defense last season left a lot to be desired. I agree with 312, he will do more good than bad in the line up. Play him if he's up for it... why not?

I don't know how I feel about him in left for these home games.

I want his bat in the lineup but his defense scares me. I'm fine with putting him back in left next season but I kind of feel they should just go with what got them there.

I'll be fine with either decision.

People on M&H were also pondering the risk of re injury as well as defensive liability. I would hate to see him running half ass on wet grass and tear up his knee again, possibly permanently.

The more I think about it and weigh Theo & crew's previous decsions, I would honestly be surprised if Kyle didn't play.

I'd have to check the weather...I may consider it if there is a more comfortable day to play.

But on days Contreras isn't catching...Contreras in LF and Zobrist in RF if Heyward sits.

Heyward hit a wicked liner in his first AB yesterday. And was terrible in his second.

I still would like to see him play once or twice against a RHP.

If I was to gamble on a LH bat getting hot,it still would be Coghlan. He was really heating up towards the end of the season. I like him batting in Wrigley.

I honestly feel terrible for the guy. You know he isn't trying to suck. I hope he redeems himself soon. Somebody called/texted into to M&H this morning that maybe he could go to the AFL and take 1,300 swings off the pitching machine..

His batting stance looks all screwed up. He should bend at the knees more like Bryant.

I still blame the hitch in his hands before he swings. But if he faces a RHP that doesn't throw 95... Heyward may at least have a chance at helping.

I don't think I'd start Schwarber tomorrow. That ball could be flying all over place with the winds being predicted. I would err on the side of defense.

Heyward's swing is still the exact same fucked up thing. Even on the ball he hit hard, his hands were lagging. If he could get those hands positioned properly at contact, he'd be hitting line drives off the wall and bombs.

The winds blowing out is why Joe will put him in left, he could go deep twice.

Just got a Tribune Sports Alert... Schwarber not cleared to play outfield. He may pinch hit, however.

Well, the Tribune was about an hour late with the alert. That's why newspapers are going out of business.

First, Beardown missed on Drinky/Icegirlgate and now he's wrong about Schwarbs.

Better take the rest of 2016 off.

I would think the wind blowing out would be even more reason to sit him. Why do you need the guy who can hit one out in any conditions when anyone on the roster can get one up and out (aside from Heyward of course)? He was a bad fielder when healthy and now put him out there on a repaired wheel and with wind that will make balls track all over the place? No thanks. Give me Almora in RF so Zobrist can play LF.

Even if cleared, I'd want the Schwarber being a pinch hitter tomorrow. Cold conditions can't be good for his knee running out there every 20 minutes. You get to pick his spot and situation when he bats. Even if healthy he isn't a good defender with a pitcher that tends to pitch to contact.

Give me Willson catching, Zobrist in Left, Heyward in right. Watching the other playoff games hammered home the importance of defense. MANY of the rallies started with a ball to the gap that the Cubs tend to track down. Heyward being able to get balls in the gaps is worth his likely 0-4.

As much as I want his bat in the lineup, playing him in LF would be a disaster. Even when he's healthy, it's horrifying.

This is the best thing for him and the team.
