Over? Not by a long shot. What is is though is interesting. Cubs have shown life and an ability to step up and do the job. Still a long way to go. Lot of baseball left to play but they are coming home and let me tell you something, I got a feeling that Wrigley will be insane Friday night. Hosting it's first World series game,I can not believe I just said that, in 71 years. Think about that. All the time , all the anguish, all the shitty baseball that ballpark has endured. Yet now this team is bringing championship baseball to it. Will it be awesome, hell yeah. Will it be dramatic, hell yeah. I want one person to walk in there step through the tunnel and look at that field on that night with the World series,I said it again, decoration up and not get goosebumps and be in awe for a second. I know it sounds hokey but I know that there will be a literal nation enthralled Friday night , a lot more than just Cub and Indian fans will tune it to take just a peek at it so they can see it. I hope to hell they show all the pre-game ceremonies because for cripes sake literally Cub fans have waited a lifetime for this.

 at these boobs saying Heyward squared one up, he will start in right tomorrow..he showed something in his one AB.

The pitcher fell behind 2-0 and the catcher walked out n said" ya know this guy sucks, right?"

Next pitch was a meatball BP fastball and Heyward couldn't do dick with it..he won't start another game, he's a defensive replacement when we gave a healthy lead or a pinch runner.

In games that count over the last two seasons, the Cubs have already won 212 games!

That is incredible. Just 3 more to go.

Tomorrow night's forecast: 60+ degree temps and 20mph wind blowing straight out to center...

1-0 Cubs?

Just heard on WGN News that the Baseball Commissioner wants to meet with the Indians owner after the WS and discuss changing the Chief Wahoo logo...

Update: Maddon told the media earlier that if they see Kyle Schwarber shagging balls today that means he's medically cleared to play the outfield.

Kyle Schwarber is shagging balls as we speak!!!!

Babe Ruth is gonna start on Friday!!!!!

Theo just announced Kyle is NOT cleared to play the field ... at least at the ballgame.

I guess Maddon lied then. Or didn't talk to Theo. Cuz Maddon said if he's shagging, that means he's cleared.

So, you're unclear what "if" means then?

Just telling you what Maddon said. I heard Silvy and Waddle report that he said this from some twitter report. JEEZ.

But maybe Schwarber wasn't really going hard while shagging. Just catching the ones right to him. Not moving much.

I'll say it again, the wind blowing to left at 35mph hurts the Cubs more than helps. I'm aware that the Cubs have a ground ball pitcher going, but it's not like he never gives up some to the outfield. These winds help the less powerful team more than the powerful team that can hit them out regardless.

Doesn't guarantee an Indians win. Cubs can still blow them out, but I wouldn't want these winds, if given the choice, if I'm the Cubs.

Plus that wind blowing straight in the pitchers face has to affect his pitches as well. Especially somebody like the Cubs pitcher who relies on finesse pitches and location more than power and awesome stuff. That will be interesting to watch.

I dont see how this hurts the Cubs more than helps. The Indians pitcher gave up 36 homers on the season. The Cubs have a lineup that hit a lot of homers.

Sure Hendricks can very well still give up homers as well, but I will take my chances with a groundball pitcher vs. the Indian lineup and a fly ball pitcher vs the Cub lineup with the wind blowing out

I think it was Maddux that said he liked pitching with the wind blowing out because it gave him even more movement on his pitches.

If this game becomes a 14-11 shitfest, the Cubs' bullpen is in much better shape than the Indians', and the Cubs have more defensive flexibility to double switch and get matchups they want, even if it means having Travis Wood and Willson Contreras as your corner outfielders at the end of the game.

In fact, if there was a game for which the "Travis Wood as LF" experiments were tailor made as preparation, it would be a 14-11 Game 3 where Wood goes out to play LF between various LH batters.

Friday’s Game 3 at Wrigley Field will present interesting conditions for pitching. The wind is expected to be blowing out at 20 miles per hour, even gusting up to 40. It will be a hitters’ night at the Friendly Confines. That’s where Hendricks comes into play.

Hendricks forced ground balls at a 48.4 percent rate this season, and has a home run-to-fly ball rate of just 9.3 percent, good for third in baseball. His Game 3 foe, Josh Tomlin, was third-worst in home runs per nine innings at 1.86 and fourth-worst in HR/FB at 17.7 percent.

What Maddon said was that Schwarber was cleared to work out in left field, and that if he could play or not would be determined after the workout.

Cleveland hits junk ballers and breaking ball pitchers better than fastball pitchers. Arietta is a terrible matchup for them. Hendricks is much better.

This could be one of those rare playoff games where the starters give up a ton of runs, but stay in the game. Could easily be a 9-7 final or something.

What are you basing this on?

It didn't look like it last night vs. Montgomery
