Ok good. Same thing here. I am still cracking up at Pancake Frank. It is only funny because it's not even an insult. It reminds me of some nickname that mobsters give one another. Frankie pancakes.

happy. that's the point. no one cares how. what matters is the team finished.

I hope this is just the Cubbie nervous energy coming out. After the parade, when you understand what it is like to call your team World Series champions, you will likely understand much more just how impressively dominant the 2005 White Sox were. It's like when you get to the top of a mountain and you can finally appreciate the climb that others did before you and how impressive some of those climbs were.

Seems like you remember a lot about the 2005 Chicago White Sox!

But hey, if you want to have a "feelings championship ranking" go ahead. We will worry more about facts.

The key word in the title of this thread is STUPID. So if one wanted to participate in this STUPID thread and somehow try and make a STUPID comment about a STUPID argument...A STUPID Cubs fan might counter a STUPID Sox fan with the FACT that...IF....IF....IF the Cubs were to go on and win this World Series they would have won a total of 114 wins whereas the 2005 White Sox would have won only 110 games. 114 > 110. But that would be kind of STUPID!!!!

Go Cubs!!! Stop the STUPIDity.

My guess about why a lot of baseball fans don't really consider the 05 team as historically great despite their playoff run because they didn't really have any historically great players ( the carcass of Black Francis excepted). Paulie was a really good player for a long time , Jermaine Dye the same. Just not a lot of household names for people to glomb onto , especially nationally . My 2c.

Good. I'm glad you admit that your credibility is now lost.

For whatever reason, it is very clear you think the 2005 Sox were not very good. So yes, the Sox are a lot close to a legendary team than you think they are. They are tied with for the best postseason record in history. That is the stuff of legend. You are incorrect. These are facts.

Unlike you, Cakes, I live in reality.
I knew the Sox were destined to win it all in 2005 by the first of August.
I said there was no stopping them.
They were a really good team and had a great season.
That said, it was one season.
A freak of nature.
An aberration.
How many playoff years in a row?
Enjoy living in the past as one of the few people that remember the 2005 one-hit wonders or even care for that matter!
Have a great day!

That is a stupid post. The Cubs may get more total wins the but the total winning percentage will be very close with the playoff winning percentage not being close at all.

Just enjoy your team. They are good too.

the premise of this whole thread is "even if you do win I'm still better"

have zero idea where this interpretation came from.

MANY Sox fans are like the guy who has the nice job and nice house and a nice car first. but now he's jobless, house is on fire and the car sits in the junkyard. their friend may finally achieve the same accomplishments but he shits on them instead of being happy for their friend.

That is not the premise of the thread.

2005 made me indifferent if the Cubs win it this year. I'm surprised at how little I actually care. That is the premise.

I'm sorry it makes you mad.

Of course if you compared the 2005 White Sox to the 2016 Cubs, you could see just how weak and feeble the Sox were. Feel free to go position by position.

When the White Sox win their next title I hope they aren't acting like Cubs fans are right now.

Yeah! That's it, Maple Syrup Man!
Compare games one-by-one!
Keep looking and I am sure you'll find a game that the 2005 Sox played decisively better than those '27 Yankees your boys are so close to!

I wouldn't be taking shots at the Sox if most of the Sox fans on here would just chill and show some class. We have a whole thread dedicated to re-watching the 2005 World Series and guys like Ihaveboilsrick trying to rip on the Cubs nonstop.

Congratulations, James, for being able to use the words "Sox fans" and "class" in the same sentence.
I didn't think it was possible.
