Don't need Schwarber eh?

Fuck you !!!

Bryant usually sees his best pitch the first pitch and is taking all the way, stop being so predictable.

When a guy gets a good jump and is stealing, don't swing un necessarily ..he don't need protection, he needs a base hit after he's on second base.

Why bash Hockey Gay? He is an emotional dude both in the Hawks and Cubs threads.

He will be back sober tomorrow predicting Cubs win it in 6

Well after they got shutout by Hill in the NLCS Game 3, I thought it was over and they came back to win the series.

For sure this will be harder to do. They got their ace tomorrow going who we could not hit off of game 1. I like Lackey on the mound. He gives some leadership out there and maybe a kick in the ass.

But I think Baez has gone back to having a Sammy Sosa strike zone. Most of his AB's been awful this series. I mean it's just basic mechanics. Go back to being simple.

if they win tommorow i'll feel better. If they lose they Indians probably win it in game 5.

Cubs only saw 124 pitches tonight. Last game, they saw almost 200. Big difference, even adjusting for the number of batters.

That's one reason why this team can go from looking amazing to horrible on offense. The other team's starter really has to be able to locate, or they'll just bleed him dry. But if he can locate, they struggle.

The biggest challenge they have now is that Joe West will be the home plate umpire for Game 6 with Jake on the mound.

The one move I did not like was wasting Coghlan to pinch run. He could have used Arrieta or some pitcher and saved Coghlin to pinch hit for Heyward or Baez.

Gay still is, hands down, the best game day poster ever. Gotta admire a man who's calling games in early April must win affairs. And I truly do believe him when he says he's literally shaking during ballgames.

I think Francona gamble wasn't smart giving Heyward 2nd in the 9th. It worked out but a base hit you lose the game.

I didn't like taking Rizzo out in the 9th.

What's with these cubs baserunners? On that triple Soler is jogging away. I doubt he gets an inside the park HR. But it would have been close.

Ok, I will feel like shit all day tomorrow. It's Saturday so that is ok. I can take it out on the tourists.

I like you man, but HG is a bipolar pussy. Who really let's a baseball game affect them that much? That's nothing to appreciate. I wish I could give him life advice.

I don't think there was anyway you're pinch hitting for Baez. And Coghlan was on the move anyway and I think that would have been asking too much of Jake.

If we really want to nitpick, and this has been a slight issue all year, Bryant's tags always end up high on the baserunner which cost us tonight. A better tag and or block of third and we're out of that inning. Like I said though, that's a nitpick. We had plenty of opportunities to score some runs and just didn't get the job done.

HockeyGay is a true cubs fan. I know what he is going thru. We're those pre pennant winning cubs fans that have been raped by this organization, our guts and hearts ripped out since 84. I dont know how to describe it. It's like a mental disability. After the Cubs won the pennant last week, i think that left me. but others i dont know. it varies from person to person.

Yeah, why aren't these guys coached to throw a knee between the base and baserunner when possible. It almost looks like Bryant doesn't want to get down and dirty.

Chisenhall is a god damn butcher in right, he's gotta cost Cleveland at least one game this series. I haven't seen Travis Wood pitch in 2 weeks, If Lackey gets in trouble, go to Wood early..must win tomorrow night or its all over.

Really bad loss tonight. You can't get shutout with these conditions, plus facing that shitty pitcher. To get shutout 2 of the first 3 games is really bad. You aren't facing a great pitching staff. Baez is back to swinging at everything, poor at bats all night. Must win tomorrow night, against their best pitcher, not good.

That's me. I'll still get frustrated when a winnable ballgame doesn't go our way, but I'm ready to bounce back emotionally much quicker these days. We're going to get a championship if not this year, then the very near future. So I've got no worries. I'm just enjoying the experience.

I was watching the game w/ my Buddy and predicted the game will come down to BAez's bat and that is scary. I saw Baez's ABs all night and it scared me even more. Sure enough , i came down to bAez. Those last 2 pitches, If I'm the Indians, I just pitch that same sequence when I got 1 strike on him. It's like 100 percent K everytime now. Guy has regressed so fast. And he's always swinging at that shit high fastball. All you can do with that pitch is K or pop it up in the infield.

I don't think you sub him there. You still have a shot. I was thinking maybe the baseball gods give us this one when Heyward gets on with an error and they give him second. But not to be. Maybe it's the INdians year, not the Cubs.

Game 4 was going to be hard. We knew this after game 1. They really needed to win tonight. There's still hope.

I doubt it, the wind is blowing out hard...this team deserved to lose..getting shutout by a scrub at home smh

He has consistently done this the whole series. I don't get it.

Painful game to watch. This was one of those where I really didn't have any thought of them winning. Baez's return to expanding the strike zone has been shockingly quick.

This Indians team isn't invincible.

Big game tomorrow night obviously.

Hopefully these guys improve their strike zone discipline and get back to winning Cubs baseball.

Remember, it's best of 7.

Arod just did great analysis. The last AB there was only 1 strike thrown. The rest were balls Baez chased. He doens't swing he's on base.

Do the Cubs get desperate and put schwarber out in LF tomorrow?

I'm completely hammered. I'll be back in the Cubs section tomorrow posting optimism throughout game 4. It's just gimmicky and lame to be the guy abandoning ship and then pretending to be captain of the ship within a page or two of the same thread.

... but I love HG

A mirror of sorts of the Election
Establishment (umps and media and replay booth) want Cubs win. But First Americans hold on and win the game. Sweet.

Meanwhile, nobody is saying shit about the Cub relievers. 5+ with only 1 run, and the run required a broken bat hit.

Tomlin pitched a fantastic game, even though he didn't even make it through 5. (Does that mean that Miller got the win, for whatever it matters?) He hadn't had a start with no runs all year, or with three or less base runners. He was locating well, keeping the ball down as low as possible and trying to prevent the fly ball. Considering he had 30+ HR allowed this year, his command was outstanding.
