I'm completely hammered. I'll be back in the Cubs section tomorrow posting optimism throughout game 4. It's just gimmicky and lame to be the guy abandoning ship and then pretending to be captain of the ship within a page or two of the same thread.

... but I love HG

He has Cubs PTSD. It's been know for years here.

So as i said...this is an L. Said it because it was the truth and have been watching baseball for 30 years thank you. And again, series isn't over. But this was not in the cards.

Find a dick to eat too. Am I supposed to be impressed because you decided to give up in the fifth inning or whenever?

Also, 30 years ago I'd been watching baseball for seven years already ... you know what that means? Nothing, same as your 30 years of viewership.

Jesus ... I expect that kind of shit out of the riff-raff, not you.

Expect what, a correct prediction?

I don't even know what you're arguing. It's shitty when you know fucking game is over so early but that's exactly what happened. Let's get them tomorrow.

sucks more they toyed with our hearts by faking having a chance in the bottom of the 9th. I literally could hear my heart pounding that last AB with Baez. And I pretty much knew the odds of what the outcome was going to be which it was.

You didn't "know" anything, Miss Cleo ... that's my point. You thought they would lose, fine, that's your deal ... don't couch it in anything remotely resembling foreknowledge. Incidentally, the Cubs' "odds" right after the Indians scored that run was 32.4% ... not favorable but sure as hell not certain.

the way Baez was playing I was not too confident he was going to come thru at the plate. The whole night it was just tense. Even hendricks getting out of those jams something just didn't feel right. It felt more like luck than anything they did. CLE was knocking on that door for several innings and they came thru. Our bullpen was terrific. But you got to score.

Hendricks did look a little shaky tonight. I would have thought he would have given up 2 runs in 5 innings with what he had, and in fact he would have if Grimm hadn't bailed him out with that double-play ball.

If the Cubs are able to break through against Kluber/Miller tomorrow night, it'll go 6 games. And Game 6 will be Josh Tomlin on the mound on short rest against Jake.

Bill Murray killed the Cubs. He is the new goat. Only way we can rid this bad luck is to drain his blood and throw it on base paths

If the Cubs lose this series the tombstone for 2016 will read "We did everything but score against their bullpen"

Seriously. It's driving my me crazy. This "amazing" bullpen keeps putting runners on base and the Cubs just can't break thru. Hats off to them, the Indians pen looks pedestrian until you have runners on second and third with 1 out. Then they slam the door and you keep shaking your head. I know in the days of SABR, it's illegal to talk about clutch but damn it's like their pen needs RiSP or they can't FOCUS.

FUCK ME. I'm going to bed.

How many instances of a batter not hustling out of the batter's box is it going to take before Maddon does something about it? Baez "Cadillacs" it out of the box and gets the deserved scorn from the media. Next time, he hustles to beat out a double play and ends up on 3rd thanks to an error. You would think Maddon could've used that as a lesson for other players, but obviously not because Contreras, in a game they were getting shut out, admires what ends up being a double and not his expected homer. Again, perhaps a learning experience. But, no.

Soler hits a triple last night, and we're left to wonder if he would've made it home had he truly busted his ass out of the box.

Instead of just singling out the player who acts like an idiot, how about addressing the entire team and saying that stuff won't be tolerated.

I sense a pattern here, and that pattern is no accountability for dumb shit like not hustling.

Pete Rose must be rolling over in his grave.

I say all of this but must give credit where it's due: Cleveland outplayed the Cubs and deserved the W.

Jason Kipnis does the honors of touching home plate.

I sure as hell hope they're way off base.

How so? If the MD won't clear him to play the outfield, what can Joe do?

Its hard to sit on the bench and come in cold n get a hit, Schwarber needs 4 at bats..not one.

Fuck it I'm going Zen with this. If the Cub are truly the better team they'll win it. If they can't beat the Indians they don't deserve to win. <Capt. Obvious, over and out>
