Not sure if it was mentioned in any previous pages but I really liked The Blue Brothers/Cubs intro to the game last night.

That was very well done and stayed pretty true to the original scene's spirit.

However, the ending sucked.

We'll get them tonight, boys!

Here are some strike zone plots from last night's game

Josh Tomlin:

Andrew Miller:

Bryan Shaw:

Cody Allen:

Cubs hitters were swinging at balls that crossed the plate more than half a foot out of the strike zone. That's not all Indians pitching, these guys were waving at some awful pitches, Baez especially.

How so? If the MD won't clear him to play the outfield, what can Joe do?

Its hard to sit on the bench and come in cold n get a hit, Schwarber needs 4 at bats..not one.

Bat him instead of Montero. I guess we can add pinch hitting to the things Schwarber can't do.

a guy hits corners for four plus, you have to tip a hat. He was a nobody that pitched like a somebody. Cubs do need to have more plate discipline but he hit a lot of spots.

After the NLCS, I'm into it but I'm not living and dying over every loss. I've already got a hotel lined up in Cleveland, I thought for sure this was going six anyway. I've got tickets for tomorrow, who else is going to be there?

Last night still sucks bad. If you can't score a run with the wind blowing out then you deserve to lose.

Going to be tough to beat Kluber tonight, but at least they got him on short rest and once you get past tonight you got all their starters on short rest. matchup tonight clearly favors the Indians, but as we clearly know things do not always go as expected.

Need to come out tonight and jump on Kluber early and often like they did against Kershaw and eliminate Miller being a factor in the game.

Get it to 2-2 with Lester, Arrieta, and Hendricks on full rest.

Keep faith, Cub fans.

This will be the part of the movie where the music gets real sad. Soon Ray Liotta will be saying "No Ray...it was you."

and once again, this is on Lackey. i hate relying on this jackass but he did deliver last time out.

yes, the bats need to come alive tonight. like i said before, last night i think they were much like they were against rich hill. too hyped up. calm down, and drive runs in. stop swinging for the fences.

didn't do anything for us last night. i'd rather have a still night and the hitters worry about doubles and driving in runs than try for the home run against a pitcher who has great stuff.

just like in game 6 of the NLCS, they have to jump early and often.

Which means they'll hit 5 warning track fly balls that would've been on Waveland last night.

I just checked the most important lineup. Tonight's seventh inning stretch is Vince Vaughn, tomorrow is Vedder. At least Vedder should be on key.

Well, the wind didn't help or hurt anybody yesterday. Go figure. Only 2 balls were hit to left field yesterday.

Needless to say, Heyward in the lineup opens Maddon up to severe criticism.

Let's see how it plays out and hope for the best...

It is not like Coghlan or Soler have been doing anything.

I am completely fine with going with the guys that got here, at least we know the defense will be solid in RF tonight

A single and a triple and a runner thrown out at 3rd last night. Sounds like something to me.

And not running out of the box and not being able to get to the hit that scored the winning run. Don't forget those

That's one way to look at it. Or you might say that if he had busted it out of the box he may have scored instead of simply tripled and that on the play where the Indians scored Heyward may have caught the ball.

I want to be optimistic but as I sit here I can't see the Cubs winning this thing.

They need a win tonight and I just don't see it.

This is so depressing. If you were to say which game out of the first four were the closest to an auto win it would have been Game 3.

I know Tomlin pitches well but someone make a god damn play. ALL YOU NEEDED WAS A SINGLE RUN!

Joe's refusal to small ball in those situations infuriates me. Fucking lay down some bunts. Zobrist did it and got on a few times vs the dodgers....it moves runners...forces a questionable defense to make plays.

I feel the same way about the small ball. Last night watching Naquin I thought, how come our team can't bunt like that?

I understand the defense first with Lackey on the mound and fly balls, etc. and maybe their numbers indicate Soler is not a good match up for Kluber, so again, let's hope for the best. As to small ball, Baez especially needs to think about using his bunting abilities as he's totally back to swing mode and therefore he's been demoted even further in the lineup.

And Bryant needs to think line drives to center field and swinging only at strikes.

As to Heyward, I don't remember him bunting all year so expect more pop ups and ground outs from his sorry ass.
