A big reason the offense is a problem is because they are not facing the Giant shit bullpen or the Dodger shit bullpen (other than Jansen), but a bullpen with Miller, Shaw, Allen....The Cubs are no longer playing shit ass NL teams. Welcome to the AL Central, Cub fans.

You believe the AL central is a dominant division?

Or just the Indians bulpen?

I wouldn't call the AL Central "dominant" but I think the White Sox are a very similar team to the Giants. That gets you a sub-.500 record and fourth place in the AL, it gets you the playoffs in the NL.

Giants had a great first half and got out far enough that they still skidded into playoffs. Kind of an odd year.

But I don't think 4th place team being similar to a WC team is that crazy either. Its usually a difference of 5-6 games over 162

If you look at the head to head between the leagues it's pretty clear that the AL is much better right now. That doesn't mean the Cubs aren't the best team in baseball. Maybe they are. The NL was the superior league in the 50s and the Yankees were the best team in the game. But there's also a good chance that the Cubs 103 wins aren't as impressive as they seem on the surface. It's possible that 94 wins in the AL is as good or better than 103 in the NL.

I don't think he's for or against any particular team, but there's a decent chance he'll do something to make the game about himself. He's also probably butthurt that he's not the crew chief. The fact that casual fans know this goof's name tells you there's a problem.

the whole team is full of primadonnas. the delayed strike out call is one of the most nauseating thing in baseball, and last night you'd think every one of them was a curtain call.

country joe will definitely give me a headache.

I think the strikezone has been fucked up the entire series, not that it's benefited one team or the other. There have been bad calls that have gone both ways.

JORR, the AL isn't some higher level of baseball. Cleveland is a very good team on a run right now. They smoked Boston (supposedly the best AL team) and Toronto (high powered AL offense). If the AL was so strong those would have been hard fought series.

The interleague record says otherwise.

I was in mass on Saturday evening and my best friend's family, people who I have known for 35 sat down in front of me in their Cubs gear. They so wanted the team to win. I felt shame for my lack of support.

If Maddon insists of "going what brought us here" then he is making a serious mistake. I would have Baez & Contreras at the end of my bench for game 6. All I here is defense wins but maybe you wouldn't need great defense if your offense wasn't so terrible.

Here is my lineup going into 6:
CF: Fowler
2nd base:Zobrist
DH:Schwarber
3rd: Bryant
1st: Rizzo
SS:Russell
LF: Coghlan
RF: Soler
C: Ross

Cogs and Soler haven't lit the world on fire but the Cubs have to try something else to wake this offense. Also,Cogs is another LH bat that was hitting better at the end of the season.

Cubs are now +200 to win it all. They are -140 for tomorrow's game and if my math is correct, would be around -130 for Wednesday.

It is right now. The head to head record between the two leagues cannot be denied. There have been times when the NL was the clearly better league.

In 2016 the AL had a better record at home and away.

The White Sox are not "very similar" to the Giants.

Actually, they are when you look at them position by position.

How has it been "explained"? The AL has a winning record in the NL parks.

Not at all.

The Sox can't pick up the ball. You vastly underrate the having Posey/Crawford/Panik if you think the Sox even sniff that trio.
