Really good episode. It'll be interesting how they stay logically consistent here. It seems like Maeve wakes up and then slowly regains memory, instead of waking up with the memory. Also seems like MiB is really a good guy, and Ford has some evil shit planned. Was Ford threatening the woman(forgot her name) when he says Arnold "lost perspective". If Arnold is actually dead, it sure sounds like Ford had him killed. MiB comes face to face with Ford next week so that should be great.

Bernard is almost certainly a host.

I think Ford definitely was threatening her, he let her know the score...he knows her history, he knows his employee's, he's literally a God while in the park and he's slipped some programming in while no one was looking. Then, as the thresher arrives, he says he's not sentimental as in he doesn't give a shit. The Arnold quip was a signal flare for her, plus he said there is already an "agent" from the BoD in the park. She has been put on notice.

The Maeve stuff was great, especially with Hector when she just took him up stairs and showed him the safe. The Hosts becoming self aware (and learning at a geometric rate) runs counter to Ford's overall plan? Or is that MiB throwing a sabot in the gears?

And Maeve starting to sketch the space suit men was cool. The Indian's walking around with the statues of them and them being incorporated into "The Lore" of the place was a nice touch. People who walk in-between both worlds....so if any host starts to remember or question or wander that becomes an explanation or layer of control.

Lot of depth here, nice touches.

I took the synthesizing of the MIB with other characters in the "thoughts" of the robots as a sign the MIB is a liberating character for them. He is trying to embed the trauma in their memory so indelibly that it cannot be scrubbed and they will recognize that actions in their lives are repeating. They then can break the cycle, as the woman did by hiding the gun and shooting her attempted rapist.

MIB is the robot psychotherapist.

Boom!

I didn't spend four years with nuns discussing the hidden sexuality of Elizabethan poetry for nothing

Love this show.

As some have mentioned (I'm sure; I haven't checked, because fuck it) the similarities between this and Jurassic Park are obvious. Incredible acting, though, and a story that is as intriguing as you could want out of an HBO Sunday series.

This show is great. It seems possible to me that William's friend Logan dies when he doesn't save him, and that is the "critical incident" from 30 years ago. MiB has been going there for 30 years, so that could also be more evidence that MiB = William.

Ford's first name is Robert. It was mentioned twice, so I have to think it's significant. Robert Ford is the guy who killed Jesse James, but I don't know really see the correlation or symbolism there. Maybe hinting that Ford killed Arnold I guess.

I like to read Sepinwall's reviews and usually agree with him. I don't think I've ever disagreed with him more than when it comes to this show. He didn't like this episode and seemed to criticize it pretty harshly. I couldn't disagree more. I thought it was easily the best episode of the season so far and the show is headed in a great direction.

Can't wait to see Maeve's conversation with that Asian dude.

What a weird episode.

Ford knows MiB, Logan and his company are trying to take over the park from a near bankrupt group, and Maeve is up.

Lawrence/El Lazo almost have to confirm the different timeline theory right? And William is the MiB?

So good.

Im not really sure what this means, but when William, Logan, and Dolores enter the town of Pariah, the Delos corporate HQ is in the background.

Not sure I buy that.

I'm relatively sure that there are MANY formations like that.

Though it could explain how Ford was able to get to the saloon so quickly.

And maybe they have the roughest town around the entrance to the outside facility to dissuade most visitors.

Am I crazy or did I see a naked Logan in that glass chamber that they do those naked host interviews during the preview for next week?

If hes a host it makes sense that the union soldiers were able to hurt him. Or it's possible I am imagining this. Someone let me know.

Don't think it was Logan.

Maybe Slim or Hector?

I'm not sold on the 30 year timeline theory you guys have. Regarding Lawrence, MIB strung him up and killed him and told the person he was with, "don't worry about him, someone will be by to get him". Later we see him Lawrence in the town with Logan and co. That could've been the next day and Lawrence was there because the park had time to gather him, clean him up and put him back in his loop.

Doesn't make sense for Logan to be a robot, but then again, how are the other robots able to beat him up? The caravan soldier was even trying to strangle him to death before William shot him. So that one's confusing.

The violence gets more "real" the further away from Sweetwater they are.

The soldiers in Pariah can hurt people more than those in Sweetwater or around Abernathy Ranch, but something would stop them from actually killing a guest.

As far as the timeline theory, who knows. They never actually say how long it takes the hosts to be cleaned and reset.

It didn't look like that caravan soldier was going to stop strangling Logan.

I think there are some time jumps, but I'm not buying the 30 year time jump thing. Also, if it was 30 years ago, Delores wouldn't be as advanced as she is in those scenes with William. its only been recently that she started "waking up", I think.

That may have been Lawrence resetting his loop. The law dogs told MiB that he was "the most wanted man...." So someone picked him up, cleaned him off and reset his loop.

It could be. Impossible to know since we are unaware of the time that passes between MiB slitting his throat and William and Dolores meeting with him.

Now is Dolores a key player with Ford? He was crying after the end of their interview. Maybe she was what split him and Arnold up? Maybe he modeled her after a dead loved one? Is her loop a punishment? Is Arnold part of her mind?

I think it's clear he's not especially find of Dolores. I have no idea what everyone's motivations are though.

Seems like Delores was Arnold's prized pet so to speak. That's probably why Ford doesn't like her or at least doesn't consider them to be friends.

If Ford was worried about Deloris, he could just put her in the incinerator. He can't because he is a robot programmed not to kill.

Timelines are definitely in question! I have a hunch, a feeling in my gut that there is some time elapsed between each section. Also, Ford is probably a robot, at least that's what the show has shown me this far.

Just a hunch, though!
