Episode 1 seems like Julie Dicaro's ideal world.

Through the first three and the only one that I really enjoyed was E1 with Bryce Dallas Howard, though Shut Up and Dance with the extortion game was OK. The twist is pretty easy to see coming because the whole time you're wondering why the kid would go through all of that misery over something so trivial.

Still, there's nothing here quite like National Anthem, The Waldo Moment or White Christmas so far. Aside from E1, which is really only directed at the most vapid social media users, it doesn't pack the same punch. I'll finish the rest tonight hopefully.

Agree about Nosedive. It wasn't bad.

Playtest wasn't that good.

San Junipero was pretty good I thought.

I'll finish the last 2 today sometime.

Hated in the Nation combines the exact feel of a BBC crime drama with Black Mirror hysteria. It is very much like 1.1, except a bit more brutal.

I've seen Nosedive, Shut Up and Dance, and San Junipero so far. Nosedive is the favorite out of the three. I felt like I was hit by a car after watching Shut Up and Dance.

The best part of Shut Up and Dance was Bronn.

play test was frustrating. too much build up and the dude was a terrible actor. like, nails on chalkboard terrible. the concept was solid, it was black mirror quality, but they didnt pull off the effect right. pissed me off, the british shows were WAY better

hopefully it gets better. watching 2nd episode now

ike, dude, i don't see this as being called "Black Mirror COOL KIDS THREAD (SPOILERS)" so tread carefully there!

that said, i couldn't sleep last night / this morning so i started plowing through them and have pretty much done all but the video game one, and i can +1 what ike said about "shut up and dance" [SPOILER INCOMING] basically ending up feeling like "White Bear" in the end.

i thought the first one with bryce dallas howard and alice eve was a little farcical in trying to play up the whole "OG idea for peeple" thing to massive proportions, but then things turned around and we got a steady dose of !!! and yeah.... i gotta admit that i teared up a couple'a times during the 80s episode. pretty fucking brilliantly well played (and even the lesbian angle/aspect of it didn't feel like it was forced/token and preachy and etc....) all in all it was just a well done episode that i tip my cap to! (NOT fedora =)

btw, for what it's worth i really really hated that kid in shut up and dance and in the end.... welp.... again that writer dude who does all these episodes fucking killed it with
Image

SPOILER COMING...

in shut up and dance did we ever definitively figure out if it was the malware or the "malware removal" software that pwned his machine for the 1337 k-r4dzi h4x0r/z? i like to think that it was the "malware removal" software tbh. and also if you didn't think about it: that dumbass kid could have saved himself from all these problems if he simply put a password on his computer (either BIOS and/or windows/OS passwords) --- seriously, what a dumbass! he wasn't the only one/thing that "had it coming" if you catch my drift ;)

bravo. fucking bravo. san junipero, that was THE SHIT. that is exactly the type of shit i try to tell when we get all fucked up and talk about universe shit. the lesbian angle whatever, it had nothing to do with what it was all about. theres a reason everyone is scheduled to die.. thats all i will say so stupid exotic lawyers dont get shit in their vaginas

this show is still good. not all the british episodes were great... but so far in the american series only playtest was weak. this is still black mirror.

speaking of, that one FUCKING DUMBASS who i can't stand.... man oh man... if he had common sense when he first got his laptop and was like me who was all "wtf? why is this here?" and then did the obvious thing to do, well then none of this bullshit ever happens!
SPOILER FORTHCOMING! YES, YOU, EROTIC LAWYER SIR! THIS MEANS YOU STOP READING RIGHT **HERE**
(of course this is pertaining to episode 3 / shut up and dance!)

ALSO, one more idea for the erotic lawyers of the world; yeah i know that sometimes you pop into a thread about a current show and see if ppl are saying good things to see if you wanna watch it..... but as a rule of thumb, if the thread is started BEFORE the show premieres and then you see people posting stuff about it AFTER it premiered, and especially if you see SPOILERS mentioned.... dude, that's your cue to go watch the show/s and come back once you've finished watching it so you can then discuss it with the rest of us.

srsly, going balls/page-2+ deep into a showthread and expecting everyone to go out of their way to coddle you because you might not have see the show that everyone's been discussing for the last 10-15 msgs = roughly equivalent to hating on all of us for being "ableist scum!" =P

Ha Sini FWIW I am not nor have I ever been sensitive to spoilers. I was making jokes. I agree though if you are sensitive to them avoid the thread!

Unless I'm old and completely out of touch, episode 1 seems like a stretch to me.

This one just seems like an obvious premise. We are too obsessed with technology and what other people think... Agreed. If that's the moral, it needs to be presented in a more creative way.

San Junipero is Westworld without the sex robots. Good stuff.

Agreed, Episode 1 was a one note production with an obvious conclusion. Not impressed.

Shut up and dance felt like a liberal/SJW torture porn fantasy where liberals get to catch people doing things online they shouldn't and then they get to torture them before the inevitable mass shaming.

The one with the video game must've sucked cause I already forgot what it was about and I watched it within the past 2 weeks.

I really liked San Jupitor though, that one was cool.
