Rizzo was on with Kaplan and said he's cleanup and Schwarber is in the 2 hole, 20 minutes later Maddon only confirmed to meat pants that he's considering it...if Maddon liked either of those clown he'd have told them.

After the interview, Meatpants said Rizzo told another station

That highlights who whole silliness of "If the Cubs traded Schwarber for Miller they would have won the series."

Bingo...have ya heard Rizzo,Bryant? Or any other player on the Score? The one crack they got with Epstein is when he made the rounds and did every other station..it seems clear that the organization doesn't care for their on air " talent" if ya even want to call those hacks that.

Again, who knows what happens if the Cubs face another team.

As it stands, the Cubs have to win two games for the WS, there are a lot worse positions they could be in.

Wouldn't have minded seeing Schwarber bat leadoff. Tomlin might not be around much past the 4th-5th innings, lets increase the chances the best hitters see him more times.

You are letting the overall suckage of the Cubs in the postseason to cloud your thought process. Baez is still the 7th best hitter on the team, at best. He should never be in the 4 hole unless Maddon has the rest of the bench starting.

You haven't watched a lot of Javier Baez this season, have you?

I'm wondering if you have.

In 450 PA this season, he had 108 K's and 15 walks. That is not a contact hitter.

NLDS:

Game 1, 3 PA, 9 Pitches
Game 2, 4 PA, 13 Pitches
Game 3, 6 PA, 26 Pitches
Game 4, 4 PA, 11 Pitches

NLCS:

Game 1, 4 PA, 11 Pitches
Game 2, 3 PA, 9 Pitches
Game 3, 4 PA, 14 Pitches

Average pitches per PA: 3.3

That is not patience. He is still an aggressive swinger. He is not protecting Rizzo and Bryant in the lineup.

He finished the season very strongly when it came to plate discipline.

He will never walk 70 times in a season. But he has shown he can work counts when needed.

As it relates to protecting Rizzo...Baez has a .900 OPS this postseason and a .873 postseason OPS overall. The dude performs in big games.

yeah...I still don't like Baez for reasons above.

Maddon should mix it up and bat the pitcher 8th still.

I like Schwarber in the 2 hole, he should get 5 at bats and Bryant ~Rizzo~ Zobrist behind him should ensure he sees good pitches.

I'll let you in on this...Chapman can hit. Saw Reds batting practice a few years back and Chapman was putting them out at Great American.

Seriously, if the Cubs lose this can it be blamed on the lack of animals and funny outfits during the postseason? Wait 'til next year!

The Cubs did a fair amount of cultural appropriation last night.

There are way too many expectations being placed on Schwarber. This is a .246 lifetime hitter, .479 slugging. And he's been out the entire year. Last year, his OPS started out hot but dropped every single month as pitchers figured him out.

I was wrong about Theo putting him on the WS roster, wrong about how he would fare in his first games back, so let's hope I'm wrong again. But this is not some world beater...at least not yet. It's really an indictment of the Cubs offense that they're batting him 2nd...but I can see why.
