Cubs never win if they trade for Miller at the deadline.

If they had given up Schwarber they don't win this series. And had they given up Baez they never make it this far.

Sure they do. In fact, they would have won it in less games.

The Baez thing is pretty comical. I love you, I hate you, I love you, I hate you...and I expect this will continue throughout his career.

I expect that his stock will likely never be higher, and that he could be the guy that Theo trades in the offseason to bring in a young pitcher. Zobrist at 2nd, and the DH in left field.

Nah, the Sox can easily find a lefty that will strike out 200 times a year while hitting .190 without having to trade a good pitcher.

Its funny. The cynic in me thought the whole play Schwarber in the series was to get his value up for the off season.

You keep saying this wrong, terrible thought yet provide no support for it .

I'm hoping this is hyperbole Boyd.

I forgot about an inability to play a defensive position.

Pardon my pessimism, but I think Schwarber is completely overrated by Cubs fans.

You didn't watch the WS then. They were a better team with him in the lineup. What he was able to do despite missing most of the season and playoffs should tell you what type of player he is.

Agreed. They are great at finding those types of players.

I watched. I saw a guy on one leg that had a good 4 game stretch. Nothing about him over a long season says he's as great as he's made out to be.

Uh no. They played him because he was cleared to play and could hit better than any other DH on the roster.

The Cubs are not about showcasing their players. The management team has definitively proven that their entire rebuild was about winning the World Series. I don't see any ulterior motives with their strategy.

Yup. Five tool player.

And he will take Ross' catchers spot next season and work personally with Lester.

You know it wasn't that simple. They aren't world champion without him. What he did was special.

Coming back from that injury was special. I don't necessarily agree that they don't win without him, though.

The offense was different with him in the lineup. They were 3-1 with him in the lineup and 1-2 without him. All road wins.

Ok...we aren't going to agree on this. So, agree to disagree...enjoy.
