I think it speaks volumes that you find validation for the Sox title through the current WS champs.

Dude, the sox won the title in 2005, the only thing you need to validate it is an internet connection and the website baseball reference.

I've only watched complete World Series games in 2005 so I'm good with that criteria.

The only reason you laugh and dismiss this out of hand is because it happened yesterday and you probably have some nostalgic view of games played in yesteryear. The criterion that it is game 7 of a World Series alone puts it in elite category. Throw in the Cubs storyline, the Indians storyline, and how the game played out, and it has to be in the conversation. #2016

b) you don't know what it means to ignore.

It's actually more that we are still high on the great win when realistically it was a poorly played and coached game that happened to have a lot of twists because of it.

I mean, unless the idea here is that the very fact that the Cubs won the World Series makes it the greatest game in baseball history which is just dumb.

What are the other parts though? The game was close but played very poorly by each side. Players played much worse than what they normally do. The winning manager is being called a lucky idiot by pretty much everyone. Two of the runs given up by the winning team were on a wild pitch.

I mean, it's cool that the Cubs and Indians played a game 7 but it sounds like this was destined to be the greatest game in baseball history simply because of that.

I don't know because it's what Kurkjian said. I don't have enough knowledge of baseball history to say one way or the other. If I were making the argument, I'd start by asking how many World Series have gone to game 7. I'd start there and evaluate each of those games. But if I had to guess, there's probably only 15 or 20 that have gone to game 7.

Additionally, you'd have to define what "greatest" meant. It will always be subjective, but what you're calling "poor play" added to the drama. If they played a perfectly executed game on both sides and one team won 5-0, some might say that game was "worse" because there was no drama.

I don't either but when I think of the greatest game in baseball history I doubt it has as many poor plays and poor decisions as that one did. That is why I laughed.

I also don't think it has to be a game 7 of the World Series.
