I think Hendricks is the real deal
I like the core of this team (and it doesn't include Schwarber)
Schwarber will make some AL team very happy in a year or two when Theo trades him for an actual outfielder.
I like that Willson Contreras kid...bright future.

I had more fun watching this WS than what the Sox did to Houston in 2005.

Good to see a Sox fan with some class.

Great team. Fun team. Exciting team. You're gonna have a nice long run of playoffs.

Congratulations Cubs fans.

Just heard that people are buying 20-30 copies of the Trib at a time.

Seems that everybody wants an actual newspaper for the first time in 10 years.

I'm going to produce a couple of those actual press plates of the front page - those are awesome.

Infield + Hendricks = great foundation. That infield makes me sick.

Lester's getting older, but he may have just had his best regular season.

Who will close next year? Do they have Montgomery signed?

These guys are likable. Hate to admit it. Rizzo's a real leader. I usually think leadership is bullshit until I see a leader in action.

Oddly enough, and I don't remember where I saw it, but I saw somewhere that they were thinking of Carl Edwards as a closer if they don't find a way to resign Chapman.

Here is a positive thought.

Honestly, even with all of the petty Cubs Sox bickering that goes on (that I am part of), I think this place was much more enjoyable during this year's playoffs due to things not getting pruned and people not getting banned.

I wouldn't resign Chapman. Rondon was fine and Edwards could be a closer or a premier setup guy. Use the Chapman money to get a younger SP.

Overall the Cubs are likeable. As I said earlier in the postseason, Lackey is probably the biggest asshole on that team and even he isn't that bad. His teammates seem to get the brunt of it from him.

Maybe he was collateral damage, but it was more so bonus points for this place. Steve is a dick and Kirkwood is another life form, but overall there were a lot of good exchanges and debates in the playoff threads.

I'm not too familiar with him...maybe it was nerves last night, but he looks to maybe have some control issues?

I liked the velocity he was getting on that fastball. Does he have a secondary pitch?

I agree on not resigning Chapman but then you have to contend with facing that fuck in the playoffs against the Giants next year. That being said I'm glad the Cubs were rolling him out there instead of Strop these playoffs. It's pretty clear that while he did a decent enough job during the year he's either still hurt or his stuff isn't all that great anyway. For throwing as hard as he does he sure seems to get hit hard. I'm guessing Edwards will close next year. Replacing Fowler at the top is going to be tough, that's my concern.

I read yesterday that Chapman was the Yankees' top priority....

Shaw is actually a good comp to Edwards even though body styles are different.

97 mph cutting fastball and power curve. Also a developing change.

I am positive Cub fans will be looking to run Baez out of town in a similar manner to Starlin Castro within two years.

I am really happy for all my friends and family that are Cubs fans to get to see this happen. It's a young and exciting team who I found very easy to root for.

Of course, now that they won one, they can go fuck themselves from here on out. :D

Appreciate that.

But this team and the fans aren't settling for one. There are many fun years ahead for the Cubs/Cardinals/Pirates in the NL Central and NL Playoffs.

fans aren't settling?

I heard hours of callers and hosts on the radio saying how it was ok if they happened to lose yesterday. If Cub fans settled any more over their lives they'd be standing with a musket defending the Alamo

You know who calls into sports radio shows? Idiots.

Let's say you heard 10 hours of callers. Is that 200 people total?

I know 200 fans would be a large percentage of your team's fandom, but this is the Cubs. Have you talked to anyone today?

We're still hungry.

Not one, not two, not three...

2016, 2017, 2019 (three peats are difficult)
