I think there might be a lawsuit. I found it weird the day I bought the papers.

The Daily Herald and The Chicago Tribune had the exact same photo on the cover the day after the Cubs won the world series.

The Tribune had Brian Cassella name under the photo. He was just on with B&B. So it was his shot. The Daily Herald credited John Starks for taking the picture.

Like I said, it's the exact same picture. Not similar. The same. How can this be?

I'll never give him any credit for anything.

The pictures are very similar but not exact. Take a good look.
Do you really think there would be a suit if it was the same picture?
It's a newspaper. It lines the bottom of a bird cage tomorrow.
It's not an Ansel Adams print.
Besides, the papers share almost everything nowadays.
How many places can you find the writings of Hub Arkush?
The Times, the Daily Herald and the Northwest Herald all have the same Hub stuff.
How do you think a paper would steal a photo from another paper, Mister Conspiracy Buff?

I was looking for subtle differences in their expressions. Couldn't find any. Looking at their fingers, they're in the same position. I guess one guy could have been standing over the other guy and they got the exact same shot. But that would be pretty rare I would think.

By the way, what a horrible cover the Sun Times had. That's the best shot they got? Really? It's bad lighting. It's their backs to the camera and Chapman is the center of the picture. Of all players him?

And to think that Bernstine compared the photo to the one of the marines raising the flag over Iwo Jima.

Mull THAT ONE over.

There is another thread somewhere about "what are Cubs fans going to buy".....As for the newspapers, I have a few copies of both Trib & Suntimes...but I also bought the press plates of both the Tribune & Suntimes. Just thought them to be cool...and durable...and not break the bank either.
