No. IMO, the Democrats picked Hilary for 2 reason: She was mainstream and being the 1st woman President.

1) Devalues college to the point where it is simply 4 more years of high school and it requires even more study after that.
2) Requires entrance exams and limited enrollment like many of the "free college" countries do.

He would have been hammered on that and he would have no real answer.

My wifes cousin is about to go to college in Boston. The degree plus room and board is almost $70k per year x 4 yrs = $280k for a fucking Bachelors degree! And you are worried about devaluing college! Comeon

Again, we just had a candidate with no real answer to anything win it all. This wasn't a year for arcane policy discussions. It was about perceptions and messaging.

It is not about why go there, that is an example of what is there. Not Harvard or Yale or Notre Dame. College is fucking expensive. There is a reason Millennials are living at home longer. Even at $20k a year, that is $80K right out of college. That is like a mortgage payment.

$20k is more normal. That is expensive.

However, "free college" just pushes everyone to advanced degrees which then cost money and you have 4 years less of earning years while you also still have to pay for other expenses.

The financial aid system needs reform. It pumps up the cost of college with no real value added.

Let me give you an example:

My wifes cousin is about to go to college in Boston. The degree plus room and board is almost $70k per year x 4 yrs = $280k for a fucking Bachelors degree! And you are worried about devaluing college! Comeon



She should go to a cheaper college.


Like I said, it is not about that. I am not claiming the top most expensive colleges are the normal. I am saying the cost for college for an 18yr to start and 21-22yr old to come out with a mortgage payment with the possibility of not having a high paying job to move out, is crazy.

It is not Boston College either.

As a middle class citizen, the college tuition issue was big for me. I have 2 little ones, and at this moment college is almost not worth the loans you have to take out vs what you are going to make.
The problem is that his plan either:
