All I remember is him dropping an easy pop-up and causing Hendricks to miss pitching a shutout.

Not surprised about Eaton. Betts had the spotlight. Have no idea if he deserved it. Eaton had a hell of a year, though.

IMO Eaton deserved a GG, maybe Jhey did too but Eaton looked like the best RF glove in the majors this year.

The great Addison Russell was the second best ss in each of the three playoff series

I seem to remember a summer argument when MaNY told me Russell was a gold glover.

He is absolutely a gold glove caliber SS and will win it multiple times.

I was watching MLB network earlier and it showed that Heyward led all right fielders preventing 14 defensive runs scored. That's nice. I think he also prevented about 50 offensive runs scored for the Cubs by hitting into double plays and failing to advance runners by striking out or popping up......forget about the runs an average RF would have knocked in with actual HITS. But yeah, he did a good job defensively. It still doesn't make up for his terrible offense. Gotta hope they can get that part of his game on a better plane before 2017.

Cubs Undefeated in postseason when Russell is on roster

So playoff elimination is another thing those guys got on him

Great SS in the postseason though. Its a fair point.

I figure he's still licking his wounds over being the reason the Indians didn't win game 7. Don't want to pile on.

lol yeah it has to be tough knowing you gave up a solo homerun to grandpa in game 7 in a game that was a 1 run loss.

Basically, he drives in runs with his glove.

MLB network has him at 14 Runs saved, which led right fielders. If all you want from an outfielder is 14 RBI, I guess you might be happy with his all-around play in 2016. Personally I think his season can best be described as :pukel:

Addison Russell is probably a top 3 defensive shortstop in the majors. The only players that I can definitively put above him are Crawford and Lindor. They were dead on the money with the SS gold gloves.

So lets say he had 63. You good with 63? I'm not. 184 million for a guy who knocks in runs like a light hitting catcher or middle infielder making the league minimum.

MLB is loaded with terrific young shortstops. They can't all make the ASG of win Gold Gloves.
