There have been several student protests around the country. You can certainly protest, but the election is over, kids.

Isn't that sign a double negative meaning he is your President?

Remember when the toothless hillbillies were (rightfully) mocked for saying Obama wasn't their president. The same people that mocked them are now out with signs doing the same thing. Democracy is awesome as long as your guy is winning.

Where is the media now to warn us that this refusal to accept the results of this democratic election is "dangerous"?

Keep in mind that colleges were and have always been a voice of dissent. We laugh now, but the ones before us made meaningful change, and the ones our age bitched endlessly until people admitted that GWB sucked. They may seem like whiners, but so did we in many regards (I mean the royal "we"... I realize Indiana doesn't have colleges). They, too, will come to realize that minority presidents are unsustainable.

How many of these idiots are over 30? Go home kids. This is adorable and everything, but entirely pointless.

It is a mix. One of my Facebook friends went live in the middle of the protest.

Or maybe some of us, while not liking the outcome, have accepted the fact that he won, and pay those dopes no mind.

holy fucking shit.... tonight i've been watching the daily show and then stephen colbert for the first time in a looooooooonnngggg time (and you can guess why) and evidently this stephen colbert late show is a live episode, so they had a cutaway shot to people out in cities all across america protesting.... AND THE STUDIO AUDIENCE CROWD APPLAUDED THIS!??!!?

what the fuck are these idiots protesting? that other people have differing thoughts opinions and choices?! wasn't this the kind of shit the pedantic left blew up at trump over when he talked about not accepting a defeat? (yes nas, i know candidates > people, but still)

seriously.... i'm not a human. i'm something else. you lot can be homosapiens and i'll forever be @homoputzoafus. i ain't one of you anymore, ok?

They won't vote but they'll protest the vote. That's backwards.

i can't speak for all non-voters, but one nice thing about it is like, take 2008: when obama first popped up and was doing his speeches at the lincoln memorial that seemed all !!! it totally capitalized on people's inherent desire to genuinely want something to believe in and hey, this dude seemed like (read: was marketed as, but you know it's easy to buy into hype when the other choice is literally hillary clinton, AMIRITE GENTLEPEOPLE?! =P) the real deal. you know, like he "transcended business as usual" and he'd be awesome, but no, let's work within the framework of reality here aka #comeonson and etc etc.

so as the election process was starting up obama seemed like he'd be the ideal guy for the situation but there was just no way... that's HILLARY FUCKING CLINTON he's going up against and, come on guys, it's pretty much her turn (plus i could genuinely see the power that be wanting to rub bush/clinton/bush/clinton in our faces just for the "lol peasants =P" tbh) rah rah rah blah blah blah -

but then before too long the little train that couldn't gained a little momentum and became "i hope it's a train that could" and then it continued on and it feels like this "organic grassroots campaign" is taking hold of some "genuine feeling of hope and change in the electorate" and "maybe we can dare to dream?" (and likely reference something by that dream deferred dude for brownie points) rah rah rah blah blah blah next thing you know The Hope and Change Express Inc., LLC is pulling into mile high stadium and the stadium is str8up ejaculating with fireworks all like "HERE'S YOUR MOMENT" and then yadda yadda yadda you know how the rest worked out.

so when it's all said and done at least assholes like me can be like "hey, technically i had no actual part, not even an iota of .0001%, in helping to install that trojan horse in the whitehouse! now fuck off and let me bask in the glory of my 20/20 hindsight plz! 8) 8) 8)

Can you imagine the discussion if this was done for Hillary or even Obama? "Not My President" would be viewed in a much different light.

Bingo.

this is what i've been saying to myself all yesterday. throughout my facebook feeds, i'm seeing the exact rhetoric from people that called out the bigots and whatnot 8 years ago when obama was elected. this is no different. it's also not quite time to have a meltdown when nothing's been done yet. the guy was just elected. if he does what they're afraid of, and we lose the ground we gained in the past 8 years...then i'm all on board. but i'm not going to chicken little the shit out of this just yet.

people just want to complain about something. it's not like electing hillary would've solved the world's problems. far from it.
