So apparently it's fucking National NES Classic Day.

And this GameStop stocks up with...

4 of them.

0 extra controllers.

The Best Buy down the street had 50 of them in stock, which of course were gone by the time the store opened. But you only carry 4 of them? Who dropped this ball?

I just wanted to get one, I didn't know it was going to be the Holy Grail of gaming this year. It's only got 30 fucking games and doesn't even have the original Contra. Shows how diluted this generation is.

They'll probably release other editions later, so you'll wind up spending like $300 on 5 separate consoles that specialize in different genres.

Dogshit.

Is this the one on the corner of Geneva Rd. and Schmale?

After I struck out at Target, I decided to take a drive over there and see what the line situation was like. 4 people were already there nearly 2 hours in advance.

Who knew that the old man yelling at a cloud would someday be talking about Nintendos at Gamestop?

That's the one. The annoying thing is the demand for such an average product. They should come with the entire library of licensed games. They could definitely afford it.

I really don't understand the market for this?

You can buy an $8 NES USB controller on Amazon, and just play all the NES games on PC, or use Steam Link or hook your laptop up to your living room TV to play it on a big screen.

NES Emulators are as plug and play as it gets.

I've got a website where I play the original Zelda. That's all I need.

This is much more convenient than any of that stuff.

(a) no
(b) especially no when you can't buy one

Any real computer - and I do not have one, mind you - is going to have an HDMI output to go to your TV. The rest is d/l'ing emus and roms.

So it sounds like the Ribwich of Video Games. I sense a lot of buyers remorse coming soon.

How is that easier than paying $60, plugging in the cable, and playing games? No downloads. No bringing my laptop over to the television. No running and installing it.

Here is the question: Let's say that I want my grandmother to be able to play nintendo games. Should I set her up with this or the emulator/rom game?

A 2.5" controller cord is convenient?

It will be fine and there are extension cords or long hdmi cables.

Was in the one in Naperville last week getting rogue jr Minecraft . Saw a used copy of MLB 15 The Show for $10 which I figured I'd buy for me . As I'm paying for the games the clerk tells me "Sir, just so you know that copy does not have the Cubs WS team on it, that won't come out till the spring."

Is this NES system meant to played in HD? The original NES was only standard definition.

I see original NES games at thrift stores all the time, but they want to charge a fortune for the games.

Ian on #CUPodcast said a month or so ago that all the GameStops were only getting a handful of them. I went to two Targets, not necessarily to get one, but I did look & neither had it.

Nintendo fucks up again.

People are talking about a piece of Nintendo hardware being in demand.

I'd say they knew what they were doing.

They don't need to manufacture demand. People are going to buy it. It comes off as so desperate and kind of sad.
