yeah it was a good game.

I would say it is a preview of the finals, but it is the Capitals. They will find a way to choke during the playoffs and not make the finals.

Good game from what I saw: first, half of the second, last three minutes of the third to the end. Can't begrudge them the overtime loss, they tied it late and lost after back-to-back games of giving up the late lead and winning, so it evens out, I guess. The Hawks are surely overachieving right now but that's not as important to me as banking the points is.

One more home game against the world-beating Habs, then seven on the circus trip this year because there's a Winnipeg visit in front of the traditional CGY-EDM-VAN-SJ-ANA-LA sequence this time, so again, good to scoop up as many points as possible early because the Hawks are gonna leave a ton on the table at some point as they always do.

Without Motte and Anisimov this team looked really thin up front last night. So far, not a fan of Schmaltz on the top line. Like Schmaltz, but he needs the puck on his stick to be effective which isn't going to work when you're on a line with Kane and Toews. I thought they looked better with Hartman later in the game as he gives them more of that pin ball player they need who will throw himself into traffic in front of the net and the corners.



I'm ready to see the end of Duncan Keith on the top P unit. He's fucking awful. Put Campbell in there.
