Just what the world needs is another Clinton in politics.

At least maybe she will be more like her Father

Quote:
While some pundits are declaring the Clinton political dynasty dead, sources tell us that it is far from over. Chelsea Clinton is being groomed for the New York seat held by Rep. Nita Lowey.

Chelsea could run for the seat in NYC’s 17th Congressional District once Lowey, a respected, 79-year-old career politician with nearly 30 years in office, decides to retire, we have exclusively learned.

Lowey’s district includes parts of Rockland and Westchester counties and, conveniently, Chappaqua, the Clinton family home base.

In August, Hillary and Bill Clinton purchased a home next door to their primary residence in Chappaqua for $1.16 million, which is intended for Chelsea, her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, and their two children, Charlotte and Aidan.

While Chelsea currently lives, and is registered to vote, in Manhattan, she could easily make Chappaqua her legal residence in order to run for Lowey’s seat when it becomes vacant.

A source told us, “While it is true the Clintons need some time to regroup after Hillary’s crushing loss, they will not give up. Chelsea would be the next extension of the Clinton brand. In the past few years, she has taken a very visible role in the Clinton Foundation and on the campaign trail. While politics isn’t the life Hillary wanted for Chelsea, she chose to go on the campaign trail for her mother and has turned out to be very poised, articulate and comfortable with the visibility.”

The source continued, “There has been a lot of speculation within New York Democratic circles about Lowey’s retirement and Chelsea running for the seat. There is a belief that Chappaqua is a logical place for Chelsea to run, because it would be straightforward for her to raise money and build a powerful base.”

A spokesperson for Lowey — who is serving her 14th term in Congress and was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1988 — declined to comment. A spokesperson for Chelsea didn’t get back to us.

Perhaps Richard Vanecko could make a run for the DA.

I think I've had enough of family politicians for now. In Illinois or anywhere else.

Yeah, nepotism only exists when we are talking about the Clintons.

call it a hunch that poor chelsea has been "groomed" for a few unsavory-to-nightmarish things throughout her life, most likely as some form of "capital" for her parents to keep on keeping on and raking in the dough via the foundation.

obviously it's baseless speculation that comes from a place where the couches are lined with tinfoil, but bill and hillary always struck me as people who'd sell out anyone or anything in a heartbeat to further/advance their own [bullshit]. i can picture some ominous obese man in a really really nice suit in a dark smoky room in some "clandestine location" going like "for what you want, bill, we're going to ask that your daughter..." bill cuts them off to go "done." surprised, the BIG GUY goes "but i didn't even tell you what..." and bill's like "don't worry, chelsea is IN. she knows that her family comes first and we do some important work here and trust me sir, you'll find that she's 'up to the challenge' of being 'down for anything' because in terms of having been 'around the block', well, *chuckles* let's just say that she got her passport at an early age! being the 'first daughter' means that you're the 'first' one to volunteer to do whatever it takes to make your daddy happy, and do i look like i'm not a happy man? *cackles* i've been one of the happiest men on earth since the 90s!"

the BIG GUY takes a step back and wonders "damn, just what kind of fucked up people am *I* dealing with here?"

TRANSLATION = she's not a drooling [r-word] and furthermore she knows how to appear as a bonafide politician that can capitalize on "The Clinton Brand" (by following orders and observing the chain of command at all times). her last name means that she can go far, obviously as long as she doesn't upset the apple-cart and cause any harm. let's pad out that resume and formally get her in the game so she can hopefully be very useful someday!

I also cannot understand why Chelsea would even want to go that route with all the baggage of her family name.

I mean she may actually have what it takes to be a competent politician and get some good things done, but she will continually be battling the demons from her parents.

Surely there has to be a better way for someone in her place to spend their life

If I were here I would do something else like JFK's kids. A lot of pressure following those parents.

This is funny shit. "...being groomed..." LOL. Send her to Oxfordshire.
Most of the news seems to be unintended parody. This bit is going nowhere. Nobody anywhere wants Chelsea for anything.

All of CNN could now be viewed as Onion Comedy. If you watch after midnight (after noon here) it's hilarious if watched as if it were a Comedy Bit. And the star would be Josh Rogin of WaPo. They really think youse are ignorant dopes. (?)

Especially enjoy the 'protest' coverage. Those pussies gotta be unemployed actors.

I didn't know she was 36 already. That is a pretty long life of no accomplishments to be thinking about being worthy of asking people for their vote.

She spent 8 years in the White House, and as I was told in the election, that is actually more valuable experience than being a Senator!
