Our home wireless connection has been really crappy lately. It goes in and out constantly. We called our provider and they sent out a tech. He said our line was fine. THe router was a little old so he replaced that and said that might help. That has not helped at all. It still goes in and out all the time.

Is there something we can do to fix the problem?

This is what caused me to drop comcast. Replaced the equipment. Still kept going out. Eventually they figured out it was on their end with a connection on the power line and would take 4 days to get a person out to fix. Switched to Uverse and never looked back.

This has started happening to me with Comcast. Twice in two weeks my connection is less than 1 Mbps. After cycling my one year old cable modem about ten times it came back.

I called their support and they tried selling my a protection plan for 7 bucks a month after I go back to their hardware for 6 dollars a month. It's a total shake down and if I want them to come look at it they can charge me 50 dollars for not using their equipeent unless they see a problem with their stuff.

Happened to me a couple of years ago. Guy came out and it turned out that the landscapers for the HOA fucked something up and the cable from the house to their main box (which is their's) was letting moisture seep in so it would intermittently flake out for a day here or there.

I had a similar issue when I upgraded to a faster internet service, however, I couldn't get my wifi to work. Switched routers multiple times. Tech was no help. Hindus on the line were a nightmare. I downgraded back to my old internet level & boom, it worked again.

pretty expensive but I was desperate to fix my wifi. EERO. I bought a 3 pack of these 6 months ago....and it works great in basement, 1st floor, 2nd floor, garage...and outside as well. It is a meshed wifi....so as you move around from place to place in your home the the wifi actually picks up / hands off to the other access point(s).

I have Comcast...and I was having to reconnect constantly & also having to reboot my access points. Money well spent IMO.

its a slow way to get better coverage.

a better solution is to buy a really good router. like, spend $150 on one. RT-AC68U is a bad ass mofo, and has the power to piss off your neighbors.
