I wouldn't say it's completely meaningless. You still have the company paying workers here to assemble those parts, paying taxes on those wages, the company paying taxes in America, etc. It's not as good as having everything manufactured/assembled here, but it's better than nothing.

Well, I'm using it in the context that there are other options that are better. If you tell me two cars are "assembled in America" it doesn't really tell me anything about how valuable it is for America. Now, some people don't care either way which is fine but the actual content and sourcing of the parts is far more important. That tells you were the research and development and actual management is coming from which is important too.
