LTG is 100% right about one thing... it takes no effort or commitment to constantly act like you are just against everyone or everything. It's the coward's way. To act like you somehow transcend politics or you are somehow more enlightened because you pretend to hate everything is not impressive... it's actually the opposite of that. Take a stand or at least try to make a point once in awhile. Even Scooter tries to do that, and he clearly has a learning disability.

MANY people do this. I just assume they're too embarrassed to say who they are for or can't defend their position. MANY Trumpets are like this. They'll usually start off by saying how awful Hillary is. Now that President-elect Trump has sent her to a retirement home they don't have that excuse anymore.

That may be so, but the Democratic Party shouldn't have gone all in on the presidency (and by extension Supreme Court) the way they did. Everything has been about tolerating the House and Senate and taking what they'll give you. Developing an apparatus of executive orders, kill lists, and favorable SCOTUS rulings in lieu of winning elections anywhere else is great...when your team has the ball. We've heard all this talk about the Republican Party dying but it's the Democrats who have gotten their shit rocked at the polls for six years. These people need help.

With regard to the congress, state houses and governors I am truly confused. We have all these close presidential elections and recent 8 year term as well as people astonished a republican president won. All the commentary and personal opinions seem to be pro left. How the hell then does congress, state houses and governors stay so red? Someone has to be voting for them.

This is where you can't shake your bias. Commentary during this election wasn't "pro-left," it was anti-Trump. There's a difference and it transcended the right-left dichotomy.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN.......................

Judging by the massive losses, since 2008, in Congress, state legislatures and governorship's (not to mention a humiliating Presidential loss) I'd say they appeal to more than rednecks and it's safe to say they don't carry the favor of the "general public" anymore. They sure thought they did and now, well, here we are. As for the popular vote...running it up in California, New York and Washington is meaningless. Clinton got beat in all the states that mattered, former Blue Fortresses.

While Hillary was bragging about fundraising with billionaires and celebrities and rich CEO's while calling for Open Borders Trump was in Michigan and Wisconsin and Ohio and Pennsylvania. The campaign got serious once leadership was changed, that much should be obvious.

The Democrats turned themselves into the Republican party circa late 90's/early 2000's mixed with terrible identity politics.

Good luck!

That's true to a certain degree, but overall traditional media outlets have leaned left in recent memory. Sure, you have Fox News which is nothing if not "mainstream", and to your point, there were key people at Fox who, if not exactly anti-Trump, sure weren't leading cheers for him. And close to home you have the Tribune, which certainly was never going to endorse Clinton, but which also refused to back Trump, settling instead for an odd endorsement of Gary Johnson. But I've never seen a "journalist" openly weep with joy over the election of a Republican and I've never seen a "newsperson" overcome with sadness upon a Republican losing.

Sure, and we went over this in a different thread regarding left-leaning hosts and right-leaning media executives, so I agree. But I also think it's important to note for folks like Pitt Mike that CNN showing a graphic that says something like "Trump Says He Released His Taxes (He Didn't)" isn't evidence of pro-left bias. It seems calling out someone's bullshit has been conflated with having a political bias during this election.

MUCH of the "media" was in full collusion with the DNC and Clinton campaign. The leaks and emails confirm this.

But your point is taken with your CNN example, crying wolf takes away from what is actually going on, be it behind the curtain or right in front of your face. As for Fox...with the Murdoch Bros. in full control they have already started their heel turn, by and large, of course.

If there is a genius to Trump that's it. He plays that game very effectively. He will simply chalk it up to bias and the will get ignored.

Unnecessary shot. People that claim bias think that while doing the tax story you mention they ignore 15 other things the left does.

Secondly there isn't a person in liberal mainstream media that cheerleaded for Hillary in the way that Hannity cheerleaded for Trump. Not even close.

Don't make it awkward for me to defend Hannity but this is not really accurate. For the record I have not watched any cable news including Fox for nearly a year. Anyway, you compare the ENTIRE left media with a singular Hannity in your statement. When comparing Fox you also should compare 6am-7pm CST not 7pm-11pm. They make fairly clear the "news" portion is early in the day and the evenings are very much opinion based more like a newspaper columnist than a reporter.

They love the horse race. The left had none so they had to boost Sanders to create one.

I really don't think that liberal media was ever in love with Hillary Clinton. Sure they'd pick her over Trump but Sanders was much more beloved this cycle and they fawned all over Obama 8 yrs ago.

I think Female journalist may feel that connection with her on some level but I think the symbolism of her candidacy was the source of it more than anything else.

Yes it is and I'm not going to compare the entire media to one person and for the record the ratings at Fox News is higher than the combined ratings of CNN and MSNBC.

There is no liberal equivalent to Hannity and Limbaugh on the left. The guys that CNN and MSNBC trot out have nowhere near the influence that those two have over their listeners.

None of them did what Hannity did. He openly vetted candidates for Trump. His interviews served as "infomercials".

CNN trotted out Trump's former campaign manager even while knowing that he was bound by a non disclosure agreement.

I don't listen to CNN much but I do try and catch the other two.

Of course there is. There are so many it would be hard to list them all. We could start with Colbert and Stewart and Franken and Maddow, and then just keep going.

AL Franken? He is a Senator. Stewart is not in media anymore and left before the start of the campaign. Maddow was in love with Sanders not Hillary and Colbert though he bashes Trump I don't know if he is pro Hillary.

None of them stacks up to Hannity. He vetted VP choices. Do you have anything comparable to that from the "left"?

Look man, you're just going to see things through your bias so there's really no point. Just give me a heads up when someone sings "Hallelujah" for a Republican.

LTG, Jorr's point is the same as many. The left does not have a Limbaugh or Hannity because they do not need them. Rush somewhat and definitely Fox was born by the bias. Murdoch and Ailes purposely started a network to serve the under served right. It is all documented. Their 'fair and balanced' is from their perspective.

Crying that the left has no strong voice is ridiculous. You have the NY Times for chrissake.

Your desperate attempts at message board relevance are equally awkward. You are exhibit A Hamilton Berger amongst the group that never can quite seem to address a point. Your act became stale awhile ago. You're the old 45' record that has been scratched up so much it simply stops playing at the same point each and every time.

None of these people are necessarily pro Hillary as much as they are Anti Trump. There needs to be a defining of what Pro is too. Name one person of substance that has openly cheerleader for Hillary in the way that Hannity cheerleader for Trump. Trump actually referenced the dude during a debate several times.

Hillary Clinton nor the Clintons in general have ever been loved by the media in the way that people on here portray. The left wing media were the ones propping up alternative candidates. They did it in 08 and they also did it this year.

How does this relate to Hillary? This validates that they loved Obama if nothing else.
