I think this is the best season in awhile.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is great.

That might have been the most poorly written fake deaths in the history of television. That wasn't believable on any level and frankly, I was ready for the death of a main character.

Glen dies then he lives then he almost dies again...must have been asking too much in contract negotiations during the writing

I respect the pervy leader of Hill Top. You can't get something you don't ask for and marriage doesn't mean anything at the end of the world.

Getting an Athens and Sparta feel between the two encampments.

I don't like how they wrote this episode in terms of the Alexandrians willingness to be Hill Top's champion against this Negan character. We have never seen Rick nor his group brag so much about their ability to kill and there is certainly no guarantee that they will be successful. They always displayed quiet confidence. Maybe this episode was to show that arrogance is setting in because they made arrogant mistakes from the beginning of the episode with being overly focused on Jesus.

There is more to this Jesus character. It seems strange that he is not the leader of Hill Top. I also think he was a magician or illusionist before Armageddon.

I'm going to lay this out there, and I know it won't be popular, but both Rosalita and Michonne are hotter than Maggie. Nice bodies on those ladies.

We should move Good Dolphin's post about 30 pages back in this thread. I think he's watching these episodes on VHS.

That was one of my favorite moments of the series. I literally burst out laughing when it happened.

Shane was like: (Bam) "Peace out Otis".

I read back a little and noticed I made the Athens and Sparta analogy when they got to Alexandria as well. I'm not right but I don't think I am wrong.

I was as perplexed as that Hill Top leader about why they were willing to risk life and limb for food when they were offered a much better and turned it down. Sure Maggie recovered a bit by getting half (what is with women in this country expecting half of everything you work for no matter the situation) they would have gotten a sustainable amount of food by doing work. Then they could have left and only had to deal with Hill Top when they wanted.

The other thing about the negotiation, Rick only hinted that they had the ability to take whatever they wanted because of their guns. When that leader started getting mouthy, she should have straight out said that the guns and entry into Hill Top were all the leverage she needed in their negotiation.

Jesus sure seemed to understand the implied threat. I think he would have rather been part of Alexandria, even with the food deficit.

A pretty slow episode but I think it sets up what a lot of you guys were hoping for at the end with a twist. Also implies that Jesus wants Maggie as the new leader of the
Hill Top which would of course follow the comic story line. Only 3 more episodes until their winter break.

Great last episode to Season 6. Who do you think took the beating?

I really enjoyed the second half of this season.

Lots of dudes in that Negan group. Not judging.

The hottie brunette at the place where Daryl currently resides is the finest babe on the show right now.

I think they could've ended it with us seeing who got killed and Rick submitting to Negan and it would've had a bigger impact on the audience.

Now, if they can somehow keep it a total secret until the next season premiere then it will prove to be a genius move in terms of raising interest in the show, but the odds of them being able to keep this under wraps in the day and age are less than zero. They said on Talking Dead that even the cast doesn't know, but I bet it will be a pretty big clue when someone doesn't get their option picked up in a couple months or whenever it is they handle the business side of things. Also, there are always photos getting leaked from the set. That's how we knew Glenn didn't die with Nicholas, because there were photos of him on set with Jesus.

SO basically the only way this finale wasn't a total disaster is if they pull the impossible and keep it secret. Good luck with that.

I thought it was an entertaining way to end it, even though I will read this thread to find out who got it before I watch Season 7 Episode 1.

I still don't really understand the whole Morgan/Carol storyline. I don't think any of that makes much sense.

I also thought the Negan scene was a shade too drawn out but that's admittedly a nitpick.

I'll still keep watching the show but I think they're losing a lot of people on this one.

I'd say "you can't come back" from this one.

The Negan scene had to be drawn out so that he could explain his ethos to the audience.

Me too. In the long term, it's a bad cliff hanger ending for the show.
My thought is this: he is going to end up killing one of the lesser characters (Not Carl, Maggie, Glenn, Michonne, Abe, Darryl, or Rick). Which will alienate hardcore comic followers (like us) because we will be annoyed it wasn't a main character but the casual or show only fan will be happy. That is the audience the show goes for (or else Judith would have been killed at the prison). Additionally, if Negan kills a lesser character, it will make him look like a lesser antagonist.

but he doesn't know who the lesser characters are. Everyone there has been a strong fighter from any intel he might have garnered while observing Alexandria. He can't kill Rick. He needs him. Therefore, he can't kill Rick's son, either.

I just judge the product. Last night's ending was bad.

Most of the second half of the season was bad. When you think about the behavior of Rick's crew, they are no better than anyone else in this world and they totally got what they deserved. After all what Negan said is true, they killed a lot of his people so they needed to pay. Even so, Negan's logic is shockingly naive: These people lead an attack on one of my bases and have killed a bunch of people at other times. I know! I want them to work for me, I'm sure if I kill one of them they will come and work for me with no problems. .

They crossed a line when they killed for profit rather than defense.

Its just a scene you cant stop and start, imo

bald-ing, not bald. Us people in transition demand our recognition.

He was great. He had both that rapey kind of look to him while also being philosophical with Rick.

I read through Season 7 Episode 1 discussion and no one revealed who gets taken out.

How does this thread get to 61 pages?
