We're done with them this year now that you only play the rest of the conference three times a year. It's our only game in the Saddledome. Hate this scheduling. Should be two and two with the Pacific/Smythe.

Gaudreau is out and their coach is a dunce. Pick up two points and move on.

Also, didn't realize Bollig was waived.

Hossa with the GWG late in the third, two more points in the bank.

Me neither! Haha, what a trade that was.

Another big night for Crawford, another finisher for Hossa. Not what you'd call a dazzling game, but for the first four months of the year, the points matter more than the play does. Just win games all year so that when it's time to upgrade for the playoffs, we're doing it for a team with favorable seeding.

This being another one-goal win among many one-goal wins, regulation ties, and one-goal losses, the Winnipeg loss looks bigger than ever, like kind of a "well how was that NOT going to happen" deal.

Vancouver's up next and that roster is a shit sandwich.

The "trying to get Saad back" rumors were interesting to read earlier this week even if they were from last year. I can't imagine there is any way to actually pull that off though.........the Seabs house for sale story from early this year.....

Seabrook's contract is immovable. Getting Saad back would have to be structured around maximum salary retention ($3MM/yr) and most likely Kruger + prospects the likes of Schmaltz and DeBrincat + even a 1st. But I've been saying all along that we're one top-sixer short, and Saad is just the player we're missing.

You'd be giving up a lot, but this core won't last forever and won't easily be replaced.

Necessary though to have a home and home against the east. It is good for me the Hawks come here at least once.

No it isn't. Some teams like Montreal and New York, yes (Detroit shouldn't even be in the East), but I don't need two games with Columbus, Carolina, Tampa, Buffalo, Ottawa, and so on. And really, it's just math: if you're going to have a playoff system that's based around beating teams in your division, then how is 39% of your schedule against teams you're not fighting for the playoffs with?
