Maybe you should shut the fuck up, I was addressing Hank Scorpio.

Now, please, continue on with embarrassing yourself and defending Hillary Clinton until your last dying breath and feeling the need to insert yourself into every last possible thing because Hillary or Trump was mentioned in even the most trivial of ways. Trying the equivalence angle with everything just shows you've subliminally accepted her corruption, illegality and the fact that she was unqualified for office. You really need to progress through all the stages of grief and be done with it.

Right, it's different people doing that screaming. The hypocrisy goes both ways.

I've never posted anything that was pro-Trump anywhere in my life. As much as I am disgusted by Clinton, had I lived in a state where there was the slightest chance of Trump winning I would have voted for her. And really, at the time I didn't think a Clinton administration would be much different than a Trump administration. Frankly, I'm surprised that Trump is surrounding himself with these recycled right-wing loons. I half expect Rumsfeld to show up in contention for a cabinet post.

That just goes to show that Trump really doesn't believe in a damn thing. He's certainly never expressed any traditionally conservative viewpoints. I don't even really think he's pro-life. I just think he knew he needed evangelical support to have any chance at a nomination. if I had to bet, my money would be that he has paid for an abortion or two himself. The whole basis for choosing these people is loyalty rather than ideology. Which is why Romney has no shot at being part of the administration.

Anyway, you don't have to support Trump to recognize blind partisanship from others. For example, one of my ex-girlfriends has been on Facebook constantly pounding Trump over the Trump U. settlement. It seems completely lost on her that Bill Clinton received $18 million as an "honorary chancellor" from a for profit university. And here's the real kicker- she works as a marketer for a for profit university herself. I wonder if she ever does any soul searching over all the poor electronics experts and nurses with stacks of debt that can't find jobs.

Was his honorary chancellorship part of a scheme to defraud people or was it paid to curry favor potentially from a former President? We know the answer to both questions. While the latter is sleazy and is directly related to political connections what Trump did with Trump University was illegal.

Now you're going to attempt to parse morality. I really don't think my ex-girlfriend has any moral high ground to bash Donald Trump over Trump U. when she makes a living fooling desperate teenagers and twenty-somethings into thinking her "university" will provide them with a better future. And I'd say the same thing about honorary chancellors of such entities. And their Carmela Sopranoesque wives.

What is immoral about Clinton accepting money from a University?

They aren't real universities. You have administrators and investors and "honorary chancellors" getting fat while students are getting a horseshit "education". The Clintons could shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue and they wouldn't lose your support.

Please note- I am not defending Trump U.

If there's any false equivalency in this vein, it's from those who are suggesting that building foreign hotels is somehow more rife with conflict than a Secretary of State and person they staunchly supported for president running a Foundation that accepts huge donations from foreign governments.

The stupidity of continuing to discuss Hillary Clinton is somehow lost on You. i think the people that need to get over her losing are the"I'm not defending Trump but I do reserve the right to never address anything he says or does" contingent. Even when they can't conceivably reference her they will always somehow find a way. Trump engaging in dubious activities somehow derails into a Hillary or me discussion. Your act has ran about as dry as that Government issued milk that used to be dispersed during the 70's and 80's.

Now you're making a point about just how fucked up the system is, though. I guarantee you Lincoln Chafee is smarter and more honorable than anyone else who ran for president this election. I wouldn't trust the rest of those people to watch my fucking dog.

As someone who gave Obama the benefit of the doubt and he did a good job I'm doing the same with Trump. I thought it was wrong to do it in 2008 and it would be wrong to do it now.

This especially true given the really weak reason for nomination in this thread.

I haven't voted for the winner of a presidential election since 2004 and I royally screwed up that pick.

I thought Obama/McCain or Romney would be bad and I think time will prove that was the case. I think this election is worse than that. I'm just hoping that Trump can stumble through 2 years while avoiding any really damning issues. We get a balanced congress to stop his bullshit for the next 2 years and then the Democrats put up a decent candidate to oppose him. I'll vote for anyone if I think they can do a good job.

My biggest fear is that the democrats don't learn from their mistakes this election. I don't want to live in a world where Trump is a second term lame duck president and can start doing whatever he wants with no repercussion.

I don't want to look that far into the future but him winning a 2nd time is a possibility because he does have a strong base of support. The only thing that I think will erode it is if he sells them out which is a distinct possibility.

The SNL open from last weekend crushed it on that. Every policy answer was 'scrap it'.

I don't consider what I have said as a defense of Trump. I can see why both are hated. I think Hillary is every bit as terrible and corrupt as he is. I don't understand how anybody could hate one and support the other. I'd have been happy with whoever lost and unhappy with the one that won. Both are there for their self interest and money.

Is all this going to end soon? I'm not interested in having this discussion for the next 2-4 years.

I'm not defending Trump. I'm just annoyed by your need to reinvent a phrase. It makes no sense.

I'm thinking about signing the petition to have the electoral college vote for Hillary just so you will stop saying it.

Zero reason for you to have to state this before making your observation or point or whatever.

Maybe i should simply refer to this particular group as the "I'm not defending Trump but I do reserve the right to never actually address anything that he says or does" contingent.

Where exactly do you fall on this particular list?

Maybe you should shut the fuck up, I was addressing Hank Scorpio.

Now, please, continue on with embarrassing yourself and defending Hillary Clinton until your last dying breath and feeling the need to insert yourself into every last possible thing because Hillary or Trump was mentioned in even the most trivial of ways. Trying the equivalence angle with everything just shows you've subliminally accepted her corruption, illegality and the fact that she was unqualified for office. You really need to progress through all the stages of grief and be done with it.

Mental illness thy name is Long Time Guy.

MANY people are calling them Closet Trumpets or just plain ole Trumpets.

Seeing that the thread about his first 100 days is already 8 pages before his first day I am going to guess no end in sight.
