It's hard to take anyone seriously who mentions the popular vote. It's like mentioning that you gained more yards in a football game or you had more hits in a baseball game.
I had this discussion with a friend the other night. The concept of "one man, one vote" seems fair and reasonable on the surface, but is it really fair and reasonable to allow New York and California to have so much power over the rest of the country? And that's really why this conversation is happening now. The chosen candidate of the large cities and coastal elites lost the election under the rules as they are established in The Constitution. If it had gone the other way, I am near certain you would not be hearing this.
I'm guessing most Americans have no clue about how the process actually works.
Huh? Trump basically stated if he lost the system must be rigged.
Bernie Sanders threatened to challenge the results even after losing.
I actually think that Hillary Clinton will accept the results even if it is found that there this some impropriety. No doubt in my mind it would be different if it were the other two. Their supporters would also be raising holy hell too.
When your opponent is getting the debate questions in advance from CNN, aren't you entitled to say shit is rigged?
How about when your own party is trying to undermine your campaign at every turn? Is that "rigging"?
I agree that Clinton will accept the results, just as I believe Trump or Sanders would have.
When The FBI makes a baseless allegation 2 weeks before the election isn't that an example of the system being rigged? When they leak information to a biased right wing network 2 weeks before about possible indictments coming down regarding the Clinton foundation which are without merit, isnt that an example of the system being rigged? When you have a media site which purports to be interested in the truth but only leaks information from one side isn't that an example of the system being rigged?
In this particular instance regarding the computer scientists this could be an actual rigging of the system and I am saying that she should simply move on
It is so obvious the bias that some of you have regarding Hillary Clinton. You would have thought she killed your dog or something. She lost and the vast majority of her supporters have accepted it at this point. If they have apprehension about a Trump presidency they should. He is a divisive figure mired in corruption. He also doesn't know anything about running government and is totally ignorant about the nation's laws. People on this board can cavalierly dismiss it as no big if they choose but that doesn't mean that "other" people have to.
It's not liberal bias to be concerned about him being President either. I had concerns about Obama 8 yrs ago and he was not nearly as divisive or threatening as Trump.
And in Sanders case he wasn't a member of the party. He became a Democrat to run for President. May have been the reason that they didn't care for him. He also spent a great portion of his career dissing Democrats as he is doing now. The notion that they owe him anything is false.
