Fuck yeah. We need more straight talk like this. I am sick and tired of walking on egg shells when it comes to discussing Obamas foreign birth and obvious fashionism. To save our democracy I would love nothing more than for Trump to fucking jail Obama and all his cronies for crimes against the state. Fuck court and trials just straight up jail him to save this country. We either have a democracy or we don't.

Fake news reporters react to Trump calling them out:

News executives and media stars reacted quickly to president-elect Donald Trump’s meeting with them at Trump Tower, after he reportedly scolded the media for being unfair and untruthful about their coverage of his campaign for president.

Several journalists spoke anonymously to the New Yorker’s David Remnick about the meeting.

“I have to tell you, I am emotionally fucking pissed,” one person said.

Another person said Trump was “totally inappropriate” and “fucking outrageous.”

“After the meeting today, though—and I am being human with you here—I think, Fuck him!” the person said. “I know I am being emotional about it. And I know I will get over it in a couple of days after Thanksgiving. But I really am offended. This was unprecedented. Outrageous!”

The meeting was off the record, however, news of its contentious nature quickly spread in the media.

When members of the media asked him about “fake news,” Trump reportedly accused CNN and NBC of spreading lies about his campaign.

Has anyone else seen this?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92L8fdKAixc

I'm particularly interested in what the black guys think about it. Obviously, I know from reading the board over the past several months that most of you pretty much agree with the viewpoints being espoused by the white liberal guy in the conversation (although spmack is one of the few of us who is intelligent enough to almost completely avoid political conversations  ). The host was clearly disturbed and offended that he used the "n-word" in relating what one of these scumbags actually said. Paris Dennard seemed nonplussed. I'm certain he's heard the word in much worse contexts before.

The host couldn't seem to get beyond hearing the word. Personally, I find that kind of silly. However, I was highly offended by this sanctimonious white guy telling the black man what was shameful for black people to do or think. These modern liberals are more deeply ingrained with white privilege than any working man and that fact seems lost on them.

It seems silly to have to alter a quote using a racial term when trying to prove the quote was racial.

I read this this morning, and it's stupid. There is literallyno context in which we can use certain words? How childish are we to adhere to such black and white rules? He was quoting.

I think people like to make games out of the n-word and c-word, like the hot lava game but for spoken words.

As I said, I'm interested in what our African-American members think. My guess is that Nas and Reader are far more bothered by Paris Dennard stating that he "trusts Trump's judgment" than they are by the other goof quoting a white supremacist to make his point.

No problem with the use of the word in that context or with someone saying they trust Trump's judgement. I'm more concerned with a black man admitting that he's okay to be used as a pawn by Bannon and calling Jeff Sessions an honorable man. I know we all have to feed our families and MANY of us will hold our noses to get that done. I'm one of them. That's not a situation that I could hold my nose for.

My politics are certainly much more in line with the white guy's, but I put a lot of value on being civil. if everyone is respectful to one another, a lot of differences can be reasonably discussed and any "hatred" quickly falls away in most cases. I found the white guy's behavior vile, and not because he quoted some bad guy using the "n-word". He was just unpleasant and disrespectful the entire time. I think Paris Dennard is a dumbass, but he was polite and gentlemanly.

And then the professor went full on liberal white douchebag with his paternal attitude that he was gonna tell the black guy how his position was "shameful for a black person". That's something you can certainly feel- and even say. I just don't think that guy has the right.

Frankly, the intolerance for the ideas of others is much more prevalent on the left. And that's where I see the bias in the media and among my friends. Every liberal I know believes he or she knows better than anyone else. I don't have nearly as many conservative friends but I can only think of one who is a dogmatic asswipe.

Its on both sides. The difference is how you get shamed by each side. If you don't conform to the left you are a racist/sexist. If you don't conform to the right you are anti-American. To quote the late George Carlin, its all bullshit and its bad for you.

All of this "white guy/black guy" stuff amuses me.
The anonymity of a message board allows people to hide behind screen names.
I've never met anyone from this board and so I do not know if anybody is black or white, for the most part.
The color of someone's skin doesn't make a difference to me.
That said, from what I have heard or read, I think that Nas and Spmack may be black.
I'm pretty certain that Elmhurst Steve is not black.
I believe that Frankie Pancakes is white and if, indeed, he was black, the rest of the race would disown him anyway.

I generally agree with you. Being civil and polite is usually the way to go. However there are times when you should speak out strongly and forcefully against things that you believe are wrong. No doubt in my mind that both of us set aside our belief that being civil is best whenever we feel it isn't. IMO the professor was right when he forcefully repudiated the rhetoric and actions of Trump and his advisor. He was also right when it came to calling out Dennard for shamefully celebrating being a puppet. Being white or purple shouldn't deter him from speaking out.

I disagree with you when it comes to intolerance. I think every group of people are equally guilty. Some are just more annoying than others. I also believe there is nothing noble about being tolerant of hate. If you've followed me on FB you'll see me calling out blacks for posting hateful stuff and being called a "coon" for doing so and also pointing out hateful stuff from others and being called other names.

But aren't you assuming that Dennard Paris doesn't really have convictions, that he's just dancing for his supper, if you will? Maybe he's just a goof who believes in Trump. I don't know. I'm certainly not going to call the guy names because his politics are different than mine. Well, I guess I just did  , but you understand what I mean.

You're right, I definitely am. He seemed awfully excited about Bannon seeing him on television and wanting to use him as a surrogate. He was dismissive of criticism of the Breitbart site and said Jeff Sessions was an honorable man with a straight face. MANY years ago people would have called him something stronger than a puppet or a goof.
