It was nice to see Prairie Ridge destroy Sacred Heart Griffin. Sacred Heart usually never plays anybody from the Chicago area until the championship game. If that QB is back for next year I think Prairie Ridge should repeat.

Looks like East St Louis is taking Fenwick's revenge on Plainfield North.

I watched a little bit of that game. I was told the QB for Plainfield North is a pretty good pitcher. I hope he doesn't throw a baseball the same way he throws a football. Both feet on the ground when you realease the ball, Son.

Hub is a fucking idiot. Did not understand why Maine South would attempt an 1 yd fg with 31 seconds left up 7.

Hub also did not understand why people wouldn't want to wait for a magazine to be delivered to their house with 4 day old information when they could just go online and look it up on any number of websites.

Can someone explain the allure of watching high school football, especially on TV? I was out Saturday evening/night and the football game was on every tv, in every place. I practically had to beg to get the Hawks game on one tv.

I understand small towns rallying around their local high school team, but it seems weird to me to see a similar attraction in a larger city, with professional options.

I prefer high school football to pro and even college. I'd have to have a serious rooting interest to watch it on TV though, in which case I'd most likely be at the game.

I went to my first prep bowl in about 35 years because my nephew was playing. It seems much more scaled back at gately. Still people were tailgating in the parking lot from both teams at 10
In the morning. It was a lot of fun

This is appalling. We're not Texas, and we're not a bunch of western Pennsylvania mining towns. How is this acceptable?

They probably didn't even have football at lake geneva high.....you're probably like hinkley-big rock where soccer is the only male fall sport.

No, the Badger Badgers fielded a football team, but our teams were never very good, hardly anyone came to the games, and most of the people who did come left at halftime. Our marching band was better than the football team, and all our marching band did was run scatter drills because the football team wasn't worth writing real drill.

I think our basketball team was always pretty good because for reasons that remain unbeknownst to me, Genoa City produces lots of tall people, but no one went to those games either.

Yeah, we weren't a sports school. Not a lot of trophies for the Badger Badgers. We've done all right for ourselves with theatre and music, though. My people!

Was Big Foot High stepping on the throat of the Badgers occasionally?

I don't think we played games against Big Foot. I feel like the only teams we ever played were Delavan, Burlington, and the two Catholic schools out in Kenosha and Racine. One was St. Joe's, one was St. Cat's, and I never remember which is which. We played Antioch in basketball once or twice in our only instance of hot interstate action.

I always thought bigfoot was the beach for the mexicans that hung drywall in the greater chicagoland area.

Yeah, we used to call that Taco Beach. But Big Foot is also the high school for Walworth and Fontana, all the way across the lake from the forest preserve of the same name.

No surprise there.

I am unfamiliar with Fenwick's team, but does anyone here think they would have beaten East St. Louis?
