LTG, you're coming off really poorly in all this. Guys like me and JORR are not defending Trump at all. We dislike him, did not vote for him, and think he is bad for this country. The alternative, while the lesser of two evils, was nearly as bad.

You were all in on Hillary. We are in no way all in on Trump.

For my part, I am just hopeful he will work on issues that I care about. I would have the same hope if Hillary had been elected.

There are Trump defenders and then there are Trump defenders. There are different degrees to Trump defenses. During the period that I really harper on the issue there is no doubt that people went out of there way to defend the guy. Where you fall in all of this don't know. I never placed you in that group as I recall.

In terms of Jorr it is a slightly different story. He does criticize Trump but he defends him much more. There is a "but Hillary" quality to most of his posts about Trump. This argument has little to no relevance now. Trump is the President.

As far as others go there are people that virulently defend the guy. They defend him even as they profess not to support him. I just provided an example of two previously. The only reason I brought it up was because TM stated that I never provided evidence. I have on numerous occasions.

The posters on the board defending Trump tend to be trolls like SomeGuy and shakes or the lunatic fringe like Beer Fan.

Of the serious/earnest political "regulars"--JORR, BRick, Nas, Curious Hair, denisdman, Reader, Darkside, America, City of Foools, pittmike, etc--the only poster to actively support Trump is America.

Wow... didn't really want to make your stupid list, anyway, ya' left wing nut job.

I didn't mean to omit anyone--especially you or Don Tiny--but LTG's claim is so absurd that I kind of half-assed my response.

I think you are providing convenient cover for those you consider trollers. I don't see it that way. If that is the case I'm a Hillary troll. They defend Trump as much at least. You also have omitted a few others too. You'd be hard pressed to find much criticism of Trump. All you have to do is search for specifics. You never find it. It's always the stuff about not voting for him.

This still doesn't explain Hillary's lies about her emails.

Yeah, LTG, what's your goal here? Who cares. I got three people in my family who voted Trump, two of whom probably did it to get a free flight back home. Cheap bastards. The other lives off the rent Alex Jones pays him for space in his head. And no, I'm not related to Mini Ditka.

Nothing really. I only started this after months of reading how no one supports Trump yet constantly felt a need to defend him. I just wanted them to be honest. I don't really care if they voted for him and I don't equate a vote for him to be akin to being racist.

There were quite a few people that proclaimed that they didnt vote for him yet months upon months either excused, ignored, or defended his behavior.

That prompted me to call them on it. It was also done as a response to constantly being bashed for Hillary support. To me it was just disingenuous for more people to boastfully proclaim how they voted for Stein or Johnson while constantly defending Trump. I'm not painting with the broad brush here and it doesn't speak for everyone. But to listen to everyone no one voted for Trump.

It's hilarious to read some of these articles out there today on Trump changing the republican party or alt-right this etc...Trump "won" because he ran against Hillary and unlikable, vanilla republican candidates.

You could say more people voted against Hillary than voted for Trump. And that's perhaps why her name keeps coming up.

True republicans are in for a shock when Trump turns out to be more of a democrat than Hillary ever would have been.

Again with the persecution complex!

1)You haven't been "bashed" here at all. Rather, you have strongly stated your opinions, and others have disagreed with equal ferocity. If you feel you've been treated unfairly, perhaps you should re-think the way you interact with other posters here.

2) Who are these people who proclaimed support for Stein or Johnson but "constantly" defended Trump? Please identify specific posters and provide examples of their recurring defenses of the president-elect.

You can't really find a post here of anyone saying, "That's just Trump." Most of us are appalled by him.

Some are very upset that he is the next president rather than Hillary Clinton. Many of us were almost as appalled by her as we are by Trump. Almost.

I am not looking to tell you what you think, but it comes off to me that some hate Hillary so much that it sort of pains you to criticize Trump. Just my opinion. It seems like every seemingly legit criticism of him by the media is that they didn't do those same things to Hillary or that if anyone criticizes something he does, it goes back to her. And at this point, it just seems like a bizarre argument to me. Most here don't like Hillary, either, but she's not even in the conversation anymore. If Trump is doing something dumb in year 4, are we still going to be referencing Hillary?

I have no problem criticizing Trump. I'm not happy that he is our president. But the fact that Hillary Clinton is not president is a silver lining as far as I'm concerned.

Chas for one. You couldn't have missed that one.

Shakes has admitted it.

Hank fits the description too.

Jorr supported one also.

312 player. Do you really want me to continue?

There were also "abstainers" that constantly defend the ahole.

Pittmike
Fits the description.

You are really out to lunch or living in a parallel universe if you think they are not out there.

There is also a "self professed" Trump ambivalent contingent too.

You have identified posters but haven't provided examples of their support for Trump. Please illustrate their "constant" defenses of Trump.

By the way, shakes didn't make any political posts until after the election, so you couldn't have had him in mind when launching your crusade to unmask the Trump supporters. This ignores the fact that he is trolling the board.

Don't. Let's find all of the posts that are critical of Trump from those proclaiming not to support him. I provided evidence of Trump defense in another thread.

Interesting how the U.S. sells Taiwan billions of dollars of military equipment but I should not accept a congratulatory call.

Well, he is right.

SNL seems to think they can roll out Alec Baldwin as Trump and everyone will be like "Hilarious!" when the content is absolutely horrible.

Trump needs to deal with it though. Everyone knows it sucks. We don't need his twitter account to tell us.

Saying it sucks is fine. It's the unbiased part that is really disturbing. I hope his fans know that a president trying to intimidate satirists is totally fine...in autocratic societies.

I don't know why SNL would feel intimidated by pointing out they are biased. I mean, they showed it when they did this right after the election. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BG-_ZDrypec

I don't think that was "satire". It was basically a "Hillary, we feel your pain!" moment that doesn't really make sense for a comedy show that should be better than that.

They don't feel intimidated. And they'll trot Baldwin back out there next week. It's actually the opposite. Trump isn't trying to silence SNL. Clinton supporters are trying to silence Trump. We can argue about whether we want a president who wastes his time with trivialities like this. I would argue we don't. But to act as if Trump is attempting to shut down free speech is nothing but trying to act like a victim for political gain.
