The Dems are probably, stupidly, going to keep Pelosi in charge it looks like. Didn't learn a thing from the election earlier this month.

I'm hoping that the Progressivist wing of the Democratic Party steps to the fore. They are going to look a lot less attractive once they no longer have the Pelosis of the world to run against. Its funny to watch Mika go in on Elizabeth Warren the other day. That doesn't happen if there is an old line Dem to position her against. Just the start.

From what I have read about this, there is a lot of loyalty towards Pelosi because she is a great fund raiser for House members. Meaning, she actually spends times and cares about individuals rather than being aloof. Also, it has been noted that she has done a terrific job in certain pieces of budget legislation in getting a good deal for the minority party where the Republicans needed some Dem votes to pass the bills. But in the end, election performance is what drives members' opinion of their leadership.

Does it really matter who leads the party in the final few years of existence?

Apparently not. Dems voted to keep her in the top spot. Best of luck to them in 2018.

Indeed, there is a lot of loyalty toward her. She damn near hit that two thirds support on the head. That is what she claimed she had several weeks ago.

Funny, no, it proved to me that occasionally, Trump is dead on point accurate, especially about human pin cushions.

Pelosi will do just what Schumer did, invite next gen "leaders" in, co-opt do-nothing opportunists like Ryan and move on. Pelosi is actually a unicorn: ultra liberal Dem who knows how to make at least part of politics work.

For better or worse Pelosi was the architect of Obamacare bill. I hate to be cynical about the whole progressive thing but I have watched them lose election after election during my lifetime. They promise much and deliver little.

Wasn't Obama billed to be a Progressive 8 years ago?
