He said he couldn't eat anything on Thanksgiving. It kind of slipped by because Dan was babbling about how his son invented Thanksgiving or something, but holy shit.

Poor Terry, its gotta be fucking terrible for him.

Didn't Terry always say that if he got that type of news, he'd be chain-smoking all day thereafter?

You know, for Terry's sake, I do hope Mac has been a true friend to him through this. But then, speaking of Mac, I still remember what he said about Dan once and it's hard not to have that rattling around in my head.

True friend? That one is on Terry. I also hope Dan Mc Neil rekindled their relationship.

After listening to his retirement announcement I will be surprised if he makes it through 2017. And if he is able to be at work everyday until January 5.

Dan went into rehab and the show on which his good buddy headlines made light of it every chance they could for an extended period of time.

I'll have to light the Beardown signal to give the full run down.

1. Mac buying 10 seats at the B&B roast pissed off Terry.

2. You're right. Mac's substance abuse problems became a bit for the B&B show. Led by Goff. But Goff was/is just an extension of B&B. Goff's "Da Ma Na" comments were out of control. They were used to make fun of Mac. Some mean shots were taken.

Mac confronted Goff about his attacks on him. This was done on the air. Mac said he read some stuff on this board. Goff called me a liar for my reporting on the situation. I did not lie. But Goff had to find a way to weasel out of this confrontation so he blamed my cracker ass.

Bernstein probably shamed him into doing that.

There's something to that. Bernstein convinced Goff that Da Ma Na was the worst type of "White person" as well. In other words, Bernstein poisoned Goff's mind into thinking that Da Ma Na was a white trash racist. Couldn't be further from the truth. Well, maybe the white trash part. Mac has called himself white trash.

Even though he hit the "big time" McNeil is a guy who keeps friendships with his high school Region Rat buds. The guy shared his ratings bonus' with his buddy producers rather than blow it on poker like his partner.

A cat like McNeil doesn't toss away a friendship unless the other side wanted no business with him. Terry is exactly the kind of miserable prick who'd toss away a friendship without regret.

Terry always seemed (and showed) like the type to completely run his mouth after you left the room, but wouldn't say boo in your presence. He was buddy-buddy with Mac during tranny, but then completely shit all over him when Mac went to rehab.

I could see that. Terry is a grudge holder, while Mac seems to let shit go with ease. Wouldn't surprise me if Mac has tried to reach out and Terry hasn't responded to calls or texts.

I'm sure it pales in comparison to your beef with Terry.

Bernstein.

Sounds weird, right? But that's who he was talking about. Boers never thought he was his friend until he got sick. Bernstein probably never acted like a friend until Boers got sick. So it makes sense.

I certainly interpreted Terry was referring to Bernstein.

I don't know if i'd say Terry is checking out, but it's clear he cannot work anymore. I think he will make it to January 5 and I hope he is able to recover and enjoy a long retirement. I'm not a HUGE fan of Terry, but certainly wish him the best as I would any human being.

Terry is obviously only a shell of his former self, but his first ten years at the station were tremendous.

I finally listened to Terry's statement. I don't know where any of you are getting the idea that his dying (at least in the foreseeable future). He talks about his future. He says that he just cannot do the job consistently and that he owes time to others (presumably family).

I think he had a scare and is sick but hardly on death's door. He sounded weaker than normal but pretty strong.

I'll reserve thoughts about his comments about his dedication to the job in his 25 years and the state of the station either for a more appropriate time or thread.

Two comments: I don't like Bernstein and do they really think they are still some fun loving, whacky show?

I listened to the replay on Mully and Hanley and it sounded different than the podcast.

Please not Chris Rongey. A cookie-cutter white sports talk guy, replete with milquetoast sports takes, a healthy dose of liberal condescension, and a Syracusean vocal inflection. Rongey, Bernfield, and Z-Pack all sound the exact same to me.

Though at least he likes to laugh, and when he's been on with Dan, the shows tend to get back to their wacky, weird roots.
