#Truth

Chas is a straight up Trump supporter, which is fine. I'll also agree with ltg that jorr does pretty much come off as a Trump apologist. Nobody else ltg claims is a secret trump supporter is, and there's no evidence to support such a claim.

It was bogus to include 312. He hates Hillary but he doesn't go out of his way to defend Trump.

Isn't Trump building hotels in India? Doesn't he own golf courses in Europe?

If one hasn't done so by now, it's basically an imperative at this point to have this playing either for real or at least in your head while struggling one's way through an ltg post.

After posting here more frequently the past 2 years, it is quite obvious that MANY don't need a post from me in order to have stuff playing in their heads.

Just proves that you can only shame people so much before it loses its effectiveness as a tactic of persuasion.

How many foreign govts, foreign leaders and such "donated" to the Clinton Foundation?

AAHAJJAHA, OH BROTHER.

Your mind works better than that. In the more owned category Trump is literally owned whereas the Hills is owned merely by implication. There really is no comparison. This dude has a "HUGE" debt problem!

Defense of Trump

Evidence of not letting things go.

Tall Midget seems to need evidence that a number of people were Trump defenders. He kept asking me to provide examples so I did. He kept pushing so it's necessary. For some odd reason many members seem to think that Trump is devoid of people who will defend him no matter what.

The "evidence" you provide to support your claims is persuasive only to you. You seem to interpret posts that criticize Clinton rather than Trump as an implicit endorsement of Trump. That's fallacious reasoning, especially since at least two of the posters you cite (JORR, BRick) are exposing the double standard you seemingly used in evaluating the two main presidential candidates. To counter these arguments, you engage in an indirect smear attack by implying the posters are racists.

When Have I ever implied that they are racists? since you are quick to ask for evidence where is yours?

When I state that Trump started the birther movement and Brick's responds by falsely claiming that Hillary supporters started it that is an attempt to defend Trump.

When I comment about Trump's racism and no one ever quite addresses it yet always ropes Hillary Clinton in that is a defense of Trump.

When I comment about the influence that the Right wing media enjoys within Republican circles and the retort is Rachel Maddow that is a defense of Trump.

I don't know what world you're living in but this has essentially gone on for months. This didn't just sprout up overnight. It isn't a case of isolated incidents either. I just don't have the time to go point by point to demonstrate it. There are a number of people that proclaim not to support the guy but obviously on some level support the guy. It doesn't make them racists if they do. It also doesn't mean they voted for him. It is obvious after doing this for months that they really don't have a problem with him being President though. If given the choice they'd choose him. I don't know where Brick and Jorr rate in all of this but they do defend the dude quite a bit.

As far as Trump and his racism goes I will never overlook that. I don't expect people on here to view it in the same way that I do. It doesn't make me a race baiter either. He introduced this into the discussion not me. He made it a centerpiece of his campaign. That doesn't go away because he has won. People on here can overlook it if they choose. It doesn't make them racists either. It just means that it doesn't have the same level of impact that it would for an African American.

I miss the theme song from All in the Family too. I also miss Meathead's non stop attempts to provide perspective for a racist and a bigot.

Your sole focus on Trump's racism combined with your attempt to "out" certain posters as Trump supporters--despite their credible claims to the contrary--makes it pretty clear what you're trying to do here.

This would be a good point if it were true. But it isn't.

Huh? I was the first on the board to identify Trump as a neofascist--a point I made over a year ago and one which you disputed at the time. You'll notice I didn't call you a closet Trump supporter, though, based on your insufficiently anti-racist response. Ya know why didn't I do that? Because I'm not fucking crazy! The notion that a given poster MUST be pro-Trump simply because their responses don't mirror the tone and substance you desire is presumptuous, egomaniacal, irrational, and just plain silly.

Quote:

The response you're describing here might be misguided--I personally don't think liberals enjoy anything like the robust communications apparatus that the right possesses--but it hardly indicates a pro-Trump bias. Sometimes people are just wrong.

Actually, you do expect people to view things exactly the way you do. And if they don't, you brand them Trump supporters.

When you tell people that they support Trump--a political figure whom you define solely in terms of his racism--despite their explicit claims to the contrary, it's pretty clear that the available evidence contradicts your self-assessment.

First of all I don't do "implicit". I don't troll or obfuscate. If I have something to say I say it.

Secondly I haven't had a sole focus on his racism. It is the single biggest issue for me but it is hardly the only one. I have reported on his shady business practices. I have commented on his ignorance with respect to policy. The Never Trumper crowd chose to ignore all of it. I provided article upon article detailing things about the guy and they never once responded. Whenever they did it was always Hillary Clinton related. When they couldn't make a direct link an indirect one was created.

I rarely if ever have accused anyone of being a Trump supporter. WHat I have correctly surmised was that they never criticize him for anything. When a person states that Hillary Clinton was the leader of the birther movement that is a lie. You're doing it now and you are thus lying. Every credible news source has debunked it yet it must be true why? because a few people on a message board think so?
That is B.S

As far as racism goes Trump is a racist and anyone that votes for him has voted for a racist. It doesn't make them racist but they voted for one thus racism isn't that much of a priority for them. It is for me. That won't change. He shitted on people of other ethnics religions and races during the campaign and that isn't easily wiped away because he won. Researching his history you find that there is a lot of that sort of thing in his past. THis is who he is and Trump defenders chose to focus on perceived Hillary Clinton racism as a means of deflecting.

If you think that a constant defense of Trump is somehow support for him then so be it. It is interesting that others on here have noticed the same thing. Before you try and parse through the language in order to create your narrative it is pretty cut and dried. They witnessed exactly what I did. Each Trump discussion invariably becoming one about Hillary Clinton.

What the Neo Fascist comments prove if anything is that I wasn't quick to label him a racist. At the time I wasn't aware of his racist past. I was willing to cut him slack and my refute to you had very little to do with racism. Also your fascist label had much more to do with his public private ambitions than it did racism.

Again, you are assuming that because people don't respond to you in the way you like, they must be Trump supporters or defenders. This line of reasoning is false.

I'm not sure exactly what this means, but the idea that JORR, myself or BRick (for example) haven't criticized Trump is simply untrue.

Actually, you're the one who is lying. Go back and read the post you quote by BRick. He says nothing about Hillary Clinton leading the birther movement--nor do I.

I think these sentences can be found in the dictionary under the definition of "obfuscation."

Your bias is showing here. You refuse to acknowledge Clinton's racism--dismissing it as "perceived"--because you like Clinton's PMC-based economic policies. Unfortunately, class prejudice is the trojan horse of neoliberal racism.

Again, you conflate factual discussions about Clinton's shortcomings with a defense of or support for Trump because of your affinity for the Clintons.

I'm not sure why anyone would have a problem with a discussion about Trump also referencing Hillary Clinton since Clinton and Trump were competing directly against one another for the presidency.

So you admit that I have criticized Trump in pretty much the harshest terms possible (unless you think identifying someone as a "neofascist" is a compliment!), yet you still have labelled me a Trump defender? Good thing you don't obfuscate!

I kid you not TM, reading your last post made me shudder. I had a lawering school professor who once took after one of my papers with sharp critical analysis and an aggressive red pen. I'd never been so shaken. Once I got through the final draft stage, I really was left wishing he had gotten to me in undergrad. (although his help may not show around here from time to time  )

But I still have nightmares of that day sitting in his office going over my first draft of that paper.

I don't recall ever labeling you a Trump defender. If I have honestly I have forgotten. You as much as I'll admit bias towards the Clintons in most instances, it is borne out of a lot of things that frankly I think are unfair.

For instance, It is quite unfair to find an equivocation in the racist debate. Trump was found liable in a court of law. He enacted policy which purposely discriminated against blacks. Hillary Clinton expressed prejudices against black criminals. Trump has never attempted to do anything meaningful for blacks and has historically been found to deny blacks things that the law says he shouldn't. There isn't any interpretation necessary for what he does. It was overt.

When I mention Community Reinvestment as a means of uplifting blacks you pooh poohed it and attempted to manufacture it to fit a construct that you have of the Clintons. Donald Trump would never have done that and he has a history of denying blacks the very thing that this piece of legislation sought to combat.

If they are one and the same as far as racism, then explain why the vast majority of white supremacists groups supported Trump. Shouldn't the equivalency extend here also?

I really miss that song. And the theme from The Twilight Zone.

I miss the theme song from All in the Family too. I also miss Meathead's non stop attempts to provide perspective for a racist and a bigot.

my friend, that was a Boers and Bernstein reference. Both themes were played when bad callers called in, instead of arguing and yelling.

he's basically doing his michael jordan HOF speech, you know, just like that dude quitting burgerworld in half baked like FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, YOU'RE COOL, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU [I'M PRESIDENT!!!]

as i've been saying all along, this dude knows how to give a speech. he gets the crowd fired up with positive thoughts even if they're high/concept bullshit... and then he talks shit! it's kinda glorious in its own self-contained universe type of way.

Hillary may have schooled Trump in the debates but "Make America Great Again" and "I am your voice" were more effective than "America Is Already Great" and "I'm with her," and if you can read at a third-grade level, it's obvious why.
