Mods, please ban poster for life.

What you liked it?

Or saying I shouldn't have had expectations?

There was lots of buzz when it first came out.

What was there like 7 Oscars between the two leads?

I'm pretty sure making the movie literally pushed Paul Newman closer to the grave.

I actually quite enjoyed that. Tom Hanks + Sam Mendes = the goods.

There's the correct answer.

Way too over the top "smart" movie. I absolutely hated it. Took everything I had to sit through the entire thing.

The whole, "worst movie ever" discussion is going to be purely subjective. There are terrible movies that try to be terrible, there are terrible movies that try to be great. Memento was like a fork across a chalkboard for me.

Team photo:

Battlefield Earth
FaceOff
Broken Arrow
Titanic
Platoon
Dusk Till Dawn

The better thread is "Movies you hated that everyone else loved".

Titanic and Platoon? If you think those are bad, I can show you much worse.

Dusk till Dawn and Face/off are fun bad imo.

Battlefield earth was a steaming pile of shit.
Interestingly enough it wasn't a bad book really.
But it seems you hate you some John Travolta.
I like you.

The first half (the Tarantino part?) of From Dusk Till Dawn was pretty good...then it just got stupid.

...relative to expectations?

Be Cool fucking sucked. The only movie I've ever walked out on. What a bunch of hacks.

Another was Wing Commander. The games were epic for their time. For those who don't know, WC was a space flight sim from the early 90's, and starting with the 3rd installment they had live action cut scenes that featured some legitimately great actors like Mark Hamill, Tom Wilson, Malcolm McDowell, John Rhys-Davies, in addition to a cornucopia of 'hey its that guy' character actors. It even featured 80's porn actress (shout out to Mac) Ginger Lynn in a non sex role. When I found out that they were making a movie of one of my favorite video games, and it was being made by the same guy responsible for the games, I was ecstatic. When I saw it I could not have been more disappointed. The acting sucked. Freddie Prinze Jr. looks like a deer caught in headlights. Matthew Lillard just mugs non stop. David Warner farts dust. Worse, the movie had nothing to do with the mythology of the games. The bad guys went from a bunch of fierce looking bipedal lions to a bunch of hairless hamsters. The whole thing might have literally been a joke.

i completely agree with "Be Cool". holy shit that movie just kept devolving as it went on...but unfortunately it never melted out of existence. it was a total waste though. at times it felt like i was watching a taped awards show.

Travolta has been in 5 dozen movies and only 2 great ones, Get Shorty and Pulp Fiction.

28 Days Later is the worst. Saw it at the show when it first came out. Half the people left and the majority of the rest left complaining. Saw a woman getting ready to buy the movie in Target and I talked her out of it.

Truthfully I think if I saw the movie today I would probably like it. At 19 or 20 it wasn't my thing.
