Agreed. Memento I get, lots of old people didn't like that movie including my parents. But, Platoon? Its almost objectively a great movie. And it has Living Color's lead singer Cory Glover in it!

Memento and 28 Days later would probably make my list of best movies of that decade. Lots of bad movie watchers on this board.

Pootie Tang was also great, but not "best of" worthy.

You're being very unfair to me but I'm not going to say anything because I have great restraint.

You think that zombie movie is the worst movie you've ever seen? Thought it was quite good. Liked the sequel even more. Compare it to Alien then Aliens with the addition of the military. 28 Weeks has an amazing opening scene.

Platoon still sucks balls...I don't care what you idiots think.

If you actually liked Memento, you're a pretentious dick.

Obviously, Titanic was an epic movie...still sucks long and hard.

I'd like to hear what makes "Platoon" "suck balls". It's like when I read somewhere on some pathetic ass blog, someone ripping "Goodfellas". It's like do you get any joy in moviegoing?

Yea, he was Charlie sheens buddy in the fox hole at the end, his best line was after the battle as he was on a stretcher, "we're gonna get a high high yes siree"

Many years later at a Living Colour concert Glover was running up and down the aisles singing (he did that alot) and during a lo by buddy yelled that line to him and he turned and smiled at him.

Glover also had a part in a Army recruitment commercial in the 80s, uttering the famous line "you gonna eat that pickle?"

Great singer, great band, one of the truly most underrated and most talented rock bands of their time.

Charlie Sheen
Oliver Stone

So just to be clear, these movies are all out for you: "Wall Street", "Born on the 4th of July", "Midnight Express", "Hot Shots", "The Arrival", "Salvador", "Natural Born Killers", "Talk Radio", "Eight Men Out", "Young Guns".

That's pretty sad, brother.

Major League. Wasn't Stone the writer on Scarface?

For the most part. I really can't stand Oliver Stone movies. I probably like Natural Born Killers and Salvador best of his films.

Yes. It's the only time in my life I almost walked out on a movie.

kind of hard to have Charlie Sheen's character be the moral center of Viet Nam when all of his counter arguments begin and end with "AHHH C'MON MAN! JUST, C'MON MAN!"

fuck platoon with a rusty bayonet.

NBK was written By Tarrenteno. He was so pissed with all the changed that Stone made he forced them to take his name off. He then made his version, the much better True Romance.

I'll have to research this one...but if NBK was written by QT, that's probably why I liked it.

True Romance was written by QT but he didn't have the Hollywood chops to get the role as Director...that went to Tony Scott...TR is top 5 of my favorite all time movies.
